Rayla's Pov

I laid down beside Callum and stared into his eyes. Remembering what Runaan said to before.

*Flash Back*

I came running up to Runaan as he started writing the mission plan for the new assassination. "Runaan, may I ask you a question" me the 9 year old asked him. "Sure go ahead" he answered. "I heard people talking about it all the time so I'm curious that's all" I explained. "Okay what is this question of yours Ray" he asked. "What's a soulmate" I asked. He froze and placed down his pen and turned his chair to face me. "It's like me and Ethari for example, we are soulmates" He started. I tipped my head like a confused puppy has I leaned up against his desk. "It's a... Well, it's like a best friend, but more. It's the one person in the world who knows you better than anyone else. It's someone who makes you a better person. Actually they don't make
you a better person, you do that yourself... because they inspire you. A soulmate is someone who you can carry with you forever. It's the one person who knew you and accepted you... Believed in you before anyone else did or when no one else would. And no matter what happens you will always love them. Nothing can ever change that" he spoke.
