"So, do you always bump into girls to ask them on a date?" she asked him darting her grey eyes on his.
"Is this a date?" he replied arching his right eyebrow.
"Would you like it to be?" she said with a devilish grin playing on her lips.
He sighed.
"Don't you get tired of joking?" he asked frowning.
She bit her lower lip, feeling a little bit guilty, this happened to her: attacking people with her weird sense of humour, trying to hide what she really thought.
"Sometimes." she said in a barely audible voice.
He heard her but didn't want to say anything, turning their conversation into an awkward silence.
"So," she started talking, "you were in such a hurry when you bumped into me, what happened?"
He stared at her thinking if he could trust her, he could tell her, she didn't know him and she had no right to judge him.
"I'm in a band and I have to write a song but it just... It doesn't come out, and it frustrates me," he spoke softly. "this is what I do, and what I love, and when I can't do it with the same flow as always it kills me because this is what I like to do." America's eyes stared at him in understanding, but not saying a word.
Ashton looked at her waiting for an answer or a critic but she didn't open her mouth so he kept going:
"I know it sounds a little dramatic, or like I'm overreacting but a band is a band and when one of the pieces that makes part of it doesn't work everything messes up."
"I can help you.. erm.. If you want, music really passionates me," she offered quietly.
"Can you?"
"Yes!" she answered excited, "I kind of know what you're going through, so I can help," he payed attention to her. "those writer blocks are the worst thing ever!"
"Have you ever written a song?"
"Well, yeah..."
"That's so cool!" he agreed with sincere happiness, "what do you write about?"
"Well, personal experiences, my life, love..." she left the word hanging in the air. These were things only her sister knew about.
"Interesting,"
"What?"
"Nothing," he shrugged nonchalantly.
"One day you'll tell me or you know!"
"What I know?"
"You know, you know!"
Her sense of humour could bother him sometimes but he couldn't help but laugh, she threatening him was really funny, she was small and skinny, he thought if he bumped into her once again he would break her and that made him laugh too.
Their plates were brought by the same waitress that took Ashton's order when he was in the kitchen, making their nostrils go wild.
"I hope you like it." said Ashton waiting for her reaction.
She looked at the Italian dish in front of her and took her fork bringing a big amount of pasta into her mouth.
"Mmmmm! This is awesome!" she spoke mouthful, making Ashton laugh again.
"I think I realised."
She saw him laughing once which made her smile while cleaning her mouth with the napkin.
