Shawn, Matt, and I arrive at the basketball court. Matt hops out of the car first, Shawn climbs out after, and looks back at me. "You coming?" Shawn asked. I look up from my phone. "Yeah, I'll be out in a second." I answer Shawn. Shawn nods, and goes and joins Matt for some practice shots.
A couple of minutes later, I finally get out and join Matt and Shawn.
PIG, Matt, your out! It's just Olivia and I now!" Shawn says. "Ooooh! Girlfriend .vs. Boyfriend!" Matt exclaims. Shawn and I laugh. I suddenly hear a car door slam behind us. "Hey! Get off of our side of the court!" A person yells from the parking lot. Shawn stops shooting, and turns around. "Um, no. This isn't YOUR side of the court." Shawn says. "Yes it is. Now you white kids get off our side of the court!" The guy warned us. Shawn and the three other guys are face to face. "Why don't we do a little, 3v3 for this side of the court?" Shawn challenged the three other guys. "You only have 2 players." One of the guys said. "We have three." Shawn said, looking at me. "A girl? Girls can't play basketball!" One of the guys said. "Oh yeah? Let's see about that." Shawn challenged him. "Alright. Whoever wins, gets this side of the court." One of the guys said. "And allow me to introduce our selfs. I'm Jayden, that's Sam-" He said, pointing to the one in the red shorts. "And that's LeBron." He said, pointing to the one in the white sweat band on his head. "I'm Shawn, that's Matt, and that's my girlfriend, Olivia." Shawn said. "Alright Shawn, lets do this." Jayden said.
We were in the forth quarter, and the score was 21-19, and we were losing.
There was 10 seconds left. Shawn had the ball down low at the post, and passed the ball to me up top (three-point line.) I quickly glanced at the shot clock, and there was 3 seconds left. I shot the ball from the three point line, and the buzzer went off. "Oh my gosh! Olivia, you made it!" Matt exclaimed. Shawn came up to me, and lifted me up into his arms, swung me around, and set me back down again. "You did it!" Shawn said. I smiled. "And who said girls couldn't play?" Matt said to Jayden and the other boys. Jayden sighed. "I've got to say, girl's got game!" Jayden admitted. "We've gotta go tho." LeBron said. "Alright. Maybe we'll see you guys in the future." Shawn said. They all nodded, and left the court.
Shawn, Matt, and I played for about 30 more minutes, and we headed back to Shawn's house.
