A BRIEF HISTORY LESSON AS IT IS KNOWN
Year 2020 - 2024. England leaves EU and are therefore cutting themselves out of the international trade market they’ve been part of for many years - this because other countries stop buying England’s goods due to rising custom prices.
Year 2025 - 2029. England’s economy had fallen significantly. The city of London, however, notices no difference as they’re able to live off off their tourism.
Year 2030 - 2034. Due bad turns within global warming, several countries establish a national flight-ban. As the ocean is rising, the water’s pressure on the Eurotunnel increases until the tunnel finally collapses into itself. These two events cuts out most of London’s tourism, something that isolates England even further and drastically harms London’s economy.
Year 2035 - 2039. As space expeditions are in everyone’s (economical) interest, NASA wants to build a new space center in Europe. Though, since the Earth’s population has increased dramatically - and therefore civilizations have left rarely any space left, they are not able to built it far from civilization. Since London is desperate for money, the parliament agrees to sell some of the inner city grounds to NASA.
Year 2040 - 2044. NASA builds a space center (which later is called ‘NASA’S Headquarter Of Old London’) and two rocket launch pads where St James Park, Green Park and Buckingham Palace used to be. NASA is also starting up a new civilization on Mars.
Year 2045 - 2059. As the wealth gaps grows more notable, The 100 Richest are introduced as the list of the 100 richest families in England (most of the families playing important parts in politics). A mutated plague virus is starting to spread throughout England.
Year 2060 - 2069. NASA hold a public announcement where they go public about The Evacuation: a plan to evacuate The 100 Richest from The Earth, to Mars.
Year 2075. The 100 Richest evacuate to Mars.
Year 2076 - 2080. Since the parliament is gone, London gets a Mayor to play government. Since the money is gone, however, he doesn’t have a big influence. The real money and influence left lays within NASA, now rich after The Evacuation. The celebration of Christmas dies out since the county isn’t able to afford it.
Year 2081 - 2099. Groups of people known as ‘rebels’ or ‘punks’ gains more influence as they start rioting during public announcements (or similar) hosted by the government. The plague is far from as common as it used to be, but still exists.
Year 2100. The new government and NASA gets together to celebrate the 15th anniversary of The Evacuation.
Year 2115. England's economy is still getting worse. Big parts of the country is poor and starving. In London, the inner circle which now only the rich people left lives in is named the ‘Pretty Parts’, and the outer circle the ‘Non-Pretty Parts’.
