Please note that this warning applies for the whole story, and although each one of these things won't pop up on each of the 3 chapters they will happen in the story!

Just for reference Wooyoung is 22 and Yeosang is 21.

They live in a futuristic world where demons roam and soulmates exist.

Also! this short takes reference from themes from by the City of Bones Series by Cassandra Clare :)

Lets begin!!

Wooyoung wielded his chain scythe with expert speed, spinning the sharp white glistening blade blessed by the angels above his head, taunting the vial demon creatures that had chosen to plague the earth today.

At almost 6 metres high the jet black slick skinned creature is intimidating to the untrained. The demon is slow and slow witted and its razor sharp claws, talons and teeth are deadly and lethal. If they catch you when they strike out you better say your prayers.

They appear from tears between the demon realm known as the underworld and the earthly plain, and like most demons, it's hard to work out when and where they will appear.

One of the demons is unmoving from its stance, while its accomplice circles behind. It suddenly whips out its razor-sharp claws making a grab for Wooyoung.

"Not today Mother fucker" Wooyoung yells at the top of his lungs. Not that the creatures could hear him anyway, these particular demons were known to be deaf and solely relied on sight to help it in battle.

Wooyoung brought his blade down hard and fast into its thick skin. The demon wailed as the angel blade made contact, and the creature shattered into a million fiery pieces, as it got sucked back into the underworld.

The other demon whom probably thought had the upper hand swang at Wooyoung from behind with its claws letting out a high pitched shriek that for the unprepared would probably cause them to freeze in shock.

Wooyoung was prepared though for the shriek and the attack, he ducked down, the demon creature grasping at thin air. With a swift pull Wooyoung had the hilt of his blade in his hand and with a swift upper cut firmly lodged it in the chest of the demon.

Wooyoung still wasn't able to relax though as his latest victim shattered around in a sea of red, orange and gold like flecks of fire and another new creature suddenly dropped from the sky. It was of similar breed to the last two, but where they were bound to the ground this particular one had wings giving it the upper hand.

Wooyoung knew that simply swinging his blade at it would achieve nothing as the creature would simply fly back out of his reach. So Wooyoung stood his ground, swinging the blade in preparation in small circles at his side, holding the chain tightly and ready to attack.

"Come get me asshole" he spat at the creature

The demon flew back and forth as if it were trying to tempt Wooyoung forward, but Wooyoung was trained by the best at the academy he attended, and he knew that if he waited the creature would soon lose its patience and come to him.

So Wooyoung waited, staring at the creature waiting for it to make its mistake and not before long it did, swooping towards Wooyoung. Wooyoung immediately flung out his scythe catching its leg in his chain and cutting deep into its flesh. With a simple pull he had the demon on the ground and he quickly helped it meets it end.

Wooyoung jumped back to his feet scanning the forested area of the valley around him, he wasn't just looking for demons now, he was looking something else, or rather someone else.

"YEOSANG!" Wooyoung shouted when he couldn't see his best friend.

Yeosang and himself had been out scouting when they were attacked, they had been separated, but Yeosang wouldn't be far.

The direction Yeosang had ran in was hilly, rocky and full of trees, unlike the clearing in the valley that Wooyoung was in. Yeosang was weaker than Wooyoung and he knew that the shelter of the trees would provide him with places he could use in defence.

The forest would slow the creature down and it would have more trouble moving inbetween the trees because of its large and bulky size unlike Yeosang who had a small and nimble size that allowed him to easily dart between the shelter of the trees, overall giving him the advantage in a fight.

Wooyoung quickly called in the attack on his radio to the academy, requesting backup in case there were anymore demons lurking.

Wooyoung observed his silver soul mark on his wrist that pointed him in the direction of Yeosang, following it like a compass as he made a run for those trees calling his name.

But as Wooyoung reached the tree line, his heart sank. There was red blood smeared on the trees, and lots of it.

Demons blood is black, and when a demon dies the blood much like the demon itself fades away in a fiery mist, leaving no trace of its horrid existence.

Wooyoung knew immediately that this blood he was seeing was Yeosang's, and his heart and soul only grew more desperate in finding him.

Wooyoung soon found Yeosang's sword and he picked it up out stretching it in front of him for double defence along with his scythe.

A couple more steps and Wooyoung spotted a foot, then a leg and then Yeosang, his Yeosang, his very dead looking Yeosang. His stomach dropped and his heart got caught in his throat when he saw the state he was in.

A pain that had only been dull before now erupted and burned the skin of his own chest. Yeosang was Wooyoung's soulmate and what Yeosang felt Wooyoung felt as well.

Wooyoung dropped to Yeosang's side leaves and twigs crunching beneath him, his weapons discarded to the side. He placed two fingers on Yeosang's neck relieved to feel the faint pumping of his blood in his veins.

The gash stretched from Yeosang's hip to his left peck and coming out of it staining his clothes and the ground beneath him was a water fall of blood.

Wooyoung quickly placed his hands on Yeosang's cheek willing his unconscious body to wake up.

"Please Yeosang" Wooyoung cried "I'm not loosing you today, just wait a little longer, help is on its way"

Wooyoung wasn't able to fix the wound, it was just too deep so he did the next best thing he could do. He pulled the tattered remains of Yeosang's vest and shirt away from his body revealing the large deadly gash that scared Yeosang's pure honey coloured skin. Wooyoung then pulled off his own shirt and jacket and ever so carefully scooped Yeosang up into his arms and drew him to his chest. Placing his jacket back over his shoulders to keep Yeosang's fragile body warm.

Its commonly known that skin ship from your soulmate can heal all wounds. Both internally, mentally and physically. A soul mate could simply sit by your side and soothe your worries, they could run their hand over a small cut and make it disappear, they could hold their hands over a fracture and knit the bone back together, and for serious life threatening wounds like the one Yeosang had now a hefty amount of skin ship could heal his wound.

It was one of the reasons that as soon as your soul mark appears and you find your soulmate, its expected you stay together, regardless of age. In a treacherous world plagued and forever attacked by demons there was safety in the one person that could always heal you, and of course you were even safer the quicker you are trained.

Most soul marks appear around the individuals 14th- 16th birthday, in rare cases sometimes earlier and sometimes later. The soul pair are sent to the academy for training once their mark appears.

Some people never even receive soul marks. It's a sad truth but it's not uncommon, you aren't less of a person just because you didn't have someone spiritually connected to you. These people often become respected individuals and hold positions of power as their opinions are unbiased by another soul.

Fortunately for Wooyoung and Yeosang they had found eachother.
