The Green Diamond

Chapter 2

Yellow's Pov:
A sigh escaped my lips listening to my incompetent army struggle with getting rid of the organic life off of a newly established colony.

"Do not force my hand in shattering you and your entire team!" I growled into my communicator watching the off colored Emerald stiffen in fear. "I expect the organic life eliminated and new gems to be made the next time I contact you." I watched as she did the diamond salute barking out a "Yes Diamond" before hanging up. I rubbed my temples a feeling of disgust filling me. After Pink Diamonds demise it seemed as if more and more mistakes started to appear with newly made gems. They weren't the size they were made to be, some came out the wrong color, and others...Yellow Diamond groaned. As easy as it would be to shatter anything that was less than expected she was talked into letting them live. And while they functioned normally it still disgusted Yellow Diamond to see them.

"Pearl!" Yellow's loud voice boomed watching her Pearl jump. "I've asked you to maintain Blue Diamond's Pearl and have her inform you if her Diamond's mood has worsened did I not?" Her Pearl quickly pulled out reports nodding quickly.

"Y-Yes my Diamond!" Yellow gestured for her to read off the reports. The yellow pearls shrill voice filling the ship.

"I-it seems as if her mood is as constant as it was when we found on her Pink Diamonds colony, My Diamond, b-but from what I've been given she's been working and maintaining court hearings and colonies." Yellow nodded rerouting her ship back to Homeworld earning a surprised look from her Pearl.

"My Diamond please forgive me but I thought that we were to check on the new gems development?" Yellow's sharp eyes cut into her pearl as she pondered on destroying her form for simply questioning her when Blue's words rang throughout her head.

"Yellow, you cannot keep destroying your gems form when you get agitated. It isn't right when they're simply trying to help." As much as I wanted to retort that she did the same thing I kept my mouth shut feeling myself becoming lost in those gorgeous blue eyes. She was absolutely radiant and despite knowing that my feelings were forbidden I couldn't help but have them.

"Y-Your right, Blue , I'll think about it next time." I  watched Blue smile softly my gem warming within in my chest. I adored her smile and it warmed me inside to know that I was the who caused it. As time went on I began to spend more and more of my time with Blue my feelings only getting stronger the more we talked. I hadn't even noticed I was neglecting my responsibilities until White Diamond called for me. The memory still making me tremble ever so slightly.

"Yellow," She started a sense of shame already filling my body. All I wanted to do was please her; I do everything perfectly for the sake of the empire well at least I used too. "Do you know why I have called you to me? "Despite her light and scolding tone I could see in her eyes that she was furious with me.

"White, my armies do not need to be babysat and as for my colonies they're incredibly self reliant everything is being well kept up wit-" I stopped talking see White raise her hand. Despite anything I said I knew White wouldn't see things my way, she hasn't since Pink's death. She was constantly in her own head which was almost impenetrable.

"It's bad enough Blue has been neglecting her own responsibilities but  it surprises me to see that you are too and that simply cannot do. "She smiled down at me a smile that was filled with cruelty, a small tremor made my body shook as a blinding white beam shot out of her eyes striking my gem. It felt like I was losing myself my color draining quickly.

"This is simply a warning, Yellow, don't make me have to give, Blue the same warning. I've been generous on giving her time to mourn but I will not tolerate my empire falling apart since neither of you are willing to work." I screamed out feeling myself lose consciousness to White's control. When I finally came too I was inside of my ship and off of Homeworld. My pearl informing me that White Diamond had requested that we checked in on colonies and gem progress. We'd been off Homeworld for a several thousand years my concern for Blue Diamond only increasing. The Moon Goddess only knowing what White Diamond told her what happened to me. I was excited to get back to Blue Diamond hoping she'd let me explain myself to her.

"Pearl we've been off of Homeworld for quite a while don't you agree?" Her pearl nodded to Yellow's approval.

"And the colonies have been doing quite well?" Her pearl nodded again as Yellow finished, satisfied.

"Than their shouldn't be any problem with us coming back home." Yellow put the ship into warp speed more than eager to see Blue again despite not actually showing the emotion in front of her pearl. As she sat back watching everything she read over the reports Blue's pearl had sent to her own accessing every word. Blue seemed to be getting better when they were together and now it seemed as if she only digressed with Yellow's absence.

Yellow began to think back to when, Pink Diamond, was still alive and well on Homeworld in the beginning Yellow Diamond couldn't help but feel jealous over the small diamond. Especially seeing how happy Blue was because of her but after a while she couldn't help but love the small diamond just as much as Blue did and for a while things seemed to be going extraordinary well. Pink brought them together in a way that seems only impossible now.

Yellow snapped herself out of the memory hearing her Pearl's shrill voice ring out not even noticing that they had landed yet.

"My Diamond, we're back." Yellow looked out into the hive like yet beautiful planet that was Homeworld her sharp eyes focusing on the high Blue tower in the distance that could only belong to Blue Diamond. Yellow Diamond exited her ship her Pearl quickly attempting to keep up with her.

"Let's go see Blue." She whispered a newfound determination filling her body.
