Chapter 25

When I pulled away I felt my cheeks heat up instantly. The 3 boys watching us whistled and hollered at a very embarrsed Harry and I.

"I uh... sorry..." I mumbled combing my hair back with my fingers.

"It's fine, I liked it Alex."

A chorus of awwwws echoed through the room, making my face heat up even more (if that was even possible) Harry coughed awkwardly and I bit my lip looking away from the group of boys. Harry stood up anf clapped his hands together.

"Alright boys, I'm sure Alex is tired so we should get going." he says.

"Uh yeah, yeah course." I said nodding my head.

I secretly hoped Harry would drop the boys and come back.

Lately I found myself growing closer to Harry, and it frightened me, but I was ok with it. What's life without a little bit of fear right?

"Alright, bye Alex!" Niall said jumping up.

Each of the boys gave me hugs and wave before exiting. Harry was the last to leave, poking his head in before shutting the door.

"Hey Alex?" he called quietly.

"Hmmm?" I hummed not wanting to reply verbally. If i opened my mouth i knew i woukd ask him to come back.

"Don't lock this door." He said, giving me a cheeky grin before exiting.

I felt butterflies erupt in my stomach, as a smile made its way to my face. I've never felt this way about a boy. I mean, I've never had the chance to with... the old them... but it felt good. It felt good to be able to trust someone finally. Sure I didn't fully trust Harry but I was getting there. Something about him made me feel safe, but on edge at the same time.

Kind of like rollercoaster.

You're strapped in and safe, but you still feel scared as you go on the loop.

It was a blissfully terrifying feeling, if that makes sense. It's like Harry just exhumed all of these lost feelings, and heaved them to the surface.

I sat on the couch and waited for the click of the doorknob.

It sounded and I smiled, a wave of butterflies erupting in my stomach. Harry walked into the living room and grinned.

"Hi." he said.
"Hi."

He dropped onto the couch next to me. We smiled at each other for what felt like ages. I couldn't find the words to break our silence, but Harry could.

"Prom." he whispered, to himself really.
"Yeah."
"You aren't scared or anything right?" He asks concerned and I shake my head.
"No, I really want to go with you." I said.

A jubilant grin found a home on Harry's face when the words left my mouth. He hugged me and I laughed, hugging him back. Harry jumped up and put his hands out to his sides.

"Just think, we have all of break together, and then we're going to Jamaica! And after that, we have spring break, and then boom! Graduation day." he says excitedly.
"I know, it's crazy." I said bouncing.
"I have another question to ask you." he said plopping down onto the couch once again.
"Shoot."

"Well, my sister, she's getting married on New Year's Eve, and I have a plus one... so would you be my date?" He asks.
"How come you didn't tell me your sister was getting married!" I asked slapping his arm.
"Because I wasn't going to bring anyone, but Gemma, my sister, insisted I have a date. So I immediately thought of you." he explained.

I looked away as the heat crept up my cheeks. Harry chuckles and I hide my face in a pillow.

"Awwww your blushing!" He teased.

I stuffed my face further into the pillow at his words.

"Look at my girlfriend, all embarrassed." Harry teased.

I shot up at his words and he seemed to notice. We both sat there in complete shock at his short sentence.

"Wait you just--"
"Mhmm."
"Then that means--"
"I think so."
"So we're...?"
"Yup."

I looked at my hands and back up at his emerald irises.

"Wo." I breathed out.

"I mean if you don't--"
"I do!"
"So we are...?"
"Yeah."

"Well thank god because that was going to get real awkward real fast." Harry laughed.

I laughed with him. We were embarrassed together. Harry looked up from his hands and chuckled shaking his head.

"Alex Kale, my girl."
"Harry Styles my man."

The room erupted with laughter at our silly pet names. Harry clutched his stomach and I wiped my eyes.

"We're an awkward bunch aren't we?"
"Of course not! We're an awkward couple." Harry joked.

We laughed again.

But then, we quieted down. There was silence and the tension was practically tangible. I made a valiant move and leaned in.

I kissed him and he smiled before cupping my cheeks.

"We're so stupid." he chuckled when we hit our noses.
"Hey, I don't have any experience. What's your excuse playboy Styles?" I laughed.

Harry tilted his head back and let out a roaring laugh. I smiled triumphantly at my riposte.

"Let me teach you young grasshopper."
"Please help me Miyagi." I said and we laughed again.

He looked at me and let his eyes flitter down to my lips.

He pressed his to mine softly. He picked up the pace in a matter of seconds before lifting me onto his lap. I tangled my hands in his curls and tossed his beanie across the room. He drew circles at the bottom of my spine and moaned quietly.

"Back dimples. Hot." he mumbled.

He flipped us over and suddenly he was on top of me. His knees on both sides of my hips. I laughed quietly and he rolled his eyes.

"I'm trying to be all manly and dominant here Alex." he said and I laughed even more.

He shut me up by kissing my lips hungrily, causing an involuntary moan to escape me. He smirked against my lips and started to rolls his hips. I dragged my hands through his hair as he moaned again.

He pulled away breathlessly and I sighed.

"God damn wax on wax off."

And once again, we were a laughing mess.
