Kai:

When the Kai and Ty found their way back to the apartment building, they met Flora at the desk.

"You boys are expected to start school tomorrow." She said in her soothing voice. Flora reached under her desk, and pulled out 2 smartphones, each still in their packaging box. They weren't much, but they seemed new enough.
"Only use these to contact me, and each other. Got It?" She sternly said, her eyes intensely staring at the brothers. Kai nodded and then shot his hand in the air, waiting for Flora to acknowledge him. Ty scoffed and rolled his eyes, pulling Kai's arm down.

"You don't have to do that here" He grumbled, and behind his hooded eyes, Kai saw the pain and anguish the lab had caused.

Flora was looking at Kai and Ty, but not separately, as one big picture. It was as if she could see their past.. their dark gloomy past. All the hard training days, the boring lectures, and the excruciating punishments. All the sleepless nights, and the dark memories the boys suffered from the incident. Kai knew that Ty could see it too, and just like that his facial expression went stoic.

"Uh, can I get games?" Kai asked, trying to break the tension.

Flora's eyes wrinkled with her smile, "Of course, but no sharing any personal information." Kai let out a loud noise in approval. He missed playing games, once in every blue moon were the boys allowed to play games for an hour at the lab. Here, though, he would be able to play them whenever. There was a snort from Kai's left, his brother.

"Come on goofus, we got to get to bed, we have an early morning tomorrow. Night Flora, thanks again." He nodded politely and started his way up the stairs.

Kai was quick to follow his brother, his fingers itching to start playing on his phone. Once they were finally in the apartment, Ty turned around to face his brother.

"Don't get too attached, okay? We never know when we have to run."

Kai sighed sadly, he hated being on the run. They hadn't even been on the run for that long, and Kai was already tired of it. He nodded and marched to his room, his feet dragging noisily on the ground.

When he reached his room, he closed his door, and flung himself onto his bed. His phone in his hand in a flash. He immediately had the app store up, browsing for suitable games.

He felt nervous for the next day.

Kai had never been to school, he only ever dreamt it. It felt so surreal to actually go to one, and a public one at that. In Kai's opinion, private schools were scary, only people with power got in it seemed.

Public school, though, anybody could go there. The amount of people that he was about to meet was bizarre in his mind, he had only really known the lab and his brother.

Kai had spent most of the night finding games, and no matter how much he tried he just couldn't sleep. Ty had come in a couple times and checked on him, each time he yelled at him for being on his phone. Kai couldn't count the amount of times he put it down to attempt to sleep, but he just couldn't keep his eyes closed.

When the time to actually get up for school came around, Kai felt his nerves explode. He had set out his outfit in the time he couldn't sleep, he picked skinny, but not too skinny jeans, and a black long-sleeved sweater. He hated showing his arms, they were covered in scars, some covered up with tattoos. The lab allowed them to get tattoos if they pleased, but it had to be on their own time, and not affect their training.

Ty walked into Kai's room, wearing something similar to what Kai was wearing.

"Come eat breakfast, and then we'll leave" Ty said in a soft voice.
