I straightened my dark black hair and style my bangs. I do my winged eyeliner as perfectly as possible and when I was happy with it I moved on to the dark red lipstick I like to wear. I didn't do any blush as I liked the pale look.
I guess you could call me rather gothic. My style was mostly black and on some occasions baby pink clothes. I loved dresses and usually wore either that or a skirt. I wasn't big on chains and spikes like many of the other goths you'd see online.
Today I didn't feel like standing out too much - I just wanted to blend in as today was my birthday - the day of the year I dreaded the most. I was turning 19 and to be honest, I never thought I'd be living to see 18 - let alone 19.
I put on my ripped black jeans and an oversized black and white long sleeved t-shirt. I put a beanie on my head that had two black hearts on it, one of which was broken. The beanie itself was pink - I didn't want to stand out - But I didn't wanna be boring either.I grabbed my baby pink fjällräven backpack and checked it.
Computer? yes. Pencil case? yes. Science book? no..... Wait.. I looked around my room and found it on the small bed in the corner where I had been doing my homework. Sketchbook? yes. I was good to go. I didn't need any other books today as we didn't have one for english and in maths we... well... I was gonna skip it so I didn't really care.
I swung the backpack over my shoulder and ran down the stairs. "Goodmorning" My mom smiled at me. I smiled back. I opened the cabinet and pulled out bread - I ate it dry as I didn't feel like adding anything more to it. I walked to the door and put on my tall creepers. They were super cool - with batwings on them and a bit of lace. They had a 6 cm platform on them and I really needed that height boost as I was only 5'
I opened the door and walked out my mom grabbed it as I was closing it. "Avalon! aren't you gonna say goodbye?" My mom asked me. She still didn't wanna realise that I didn't speak, although today it had been two years. This pressure to speak didn't make it better at all.
I shot her a saddened look and walked out the door.
I popped in my headphones and started walking towards the school.
I reached school grounds faster than I usually did, but I was still late.
I felt a ball hit the back of my head and winced, but kept walking. "sup, loser?" One of the juniors asked. I'm the original... LOOOSER I thought to myself as I kept walking. I double-checked my schedule before walking to class - 503 english.I walked into the class and the teacher knew to not talk to me cause she knew me and knew that I wouldn't answer.
I walked to the back of the class where I usually sat and put my bag down on the floor beside me. I then slumped in the chair not feeling like sitting through this entire class. The students in class started passing papers around... oh no... not a test. I tried to stretch my neck to look at the paper the person in front of me had just gotten. unfortunately I couldn't make out what it read. Then a paper was given to me.
