Quinn's POV

Later in the night the whole Callahan family have a meeting over my dad overreaction to my hair, but we manage to solve it with only a few incidents which is actually more of a success then you normal. Right now, me along with my brother are in the living room decorating our Christmas tree, my dad is bringing up boxes and trying to decorate the rest of the house, and Grandma Etta is sitting in her chair watching yet another Hallmark Christmas movie. "I never understood why we decorate the house for Christmas when we live in a state where winter doesn't exist." Jared comments placing an ornament on the tree.

"We do it because your mom would haunt us if we gave up on celebrating one of the most important holidays of the year." My dad says with a smile on face as he opens another box, "Dad? I always wondered why we moved to Nevada since it is very far from where we are originally from." My dad pulls out small antique Christmas figurines placing them carefully on the already decorated fireplace,"When I got done with police training your mom and I took you along with us on a vacation here to see grandma Etta and Grandpa Bill since they spent their winters here, and we always loved it in Nevada." Etta pausing her movie turning her attention to the three of us,

"Everyone would rather go to Florida, well I told your Grandpa Bill that I was not going to waste my time in a place people call god waiting room. And after going though all different states and weighing the pros and cons, we both agreed on Nevada."I always admire the love and the relationship of my grandma Etta and Grandpa Bill also the love and the relationship of my own parents. "Dad? Didn't you and mom meet around this time of year?" My dad nods his head with a giant smile on his face,

"Me and your mom met when I was 16 and she was 15 on a snowy December night at a gas station in Missouri. It was lightly snowing and a few of my friends and I pulled into a gas station to fill up, I stepped out of my friend's car to stretch and as I looked around my eyes just happened to fall upon the most beautiful girl I had ever seen in my life standing there at pump 3." I smile at him as he smiles right back at me, but I can also see a tiny bit of sadness in his eyes, "Love at first sight dad?" Jared asks flopping onto the couch,

"No doubt in my mind but I must have been staring at her too long because one of her friends whispered something to her then pointed at me and when they both looked at me I hurried inside and got what I wanted." I sit on the arm of the couch paying more attention to the story then the decorating. "I stuck around and waited until your mom walked to pay for her gas, we talked for a while and the more we talked the more I couldn't help noticing just how much in common we had, it was like we were made for each other." Funny to think that one day it could be just a normal day when all of sudden you just happen to meet the person that you are meant to be with.

"Before she left we exchanged numbers, then a week later I took her out on our official first date, and we were together since then." Jared and I smile at each other. After about another 2 hours we finally finish decorating the house. "We are done, and that means I am going to bed." I hug and kiss everyone goodnight as I walk upstairs and enter my room. I put everything from today in its rightful place before stripping off my clothes and change into a purple short sleeve pajama top and a pair of white high-waisted shorts, "I am comfy and that's all that matters." I mumble to myself untying the white canopy netting curtains letting them fall in place as I throw myself into my bed grabbing the blanket my mom mad for me and throw it over myself, and seconds later I am drifting off into dream land.

I am awoken in the middle of the night by the sound of odd tapping, and when I open my eyes and look over at my clock I see that it is 2 in the morning. "This better be an emergency otherwise I am going to make it one." I grumble sitting up in my bed and looking out my window to see Nick standing in my backyard. I quickly make my way over to the other side of my bed and open my window, "What are you doing here? You are going to get arrested." I growl at him baffled as to why Nick would be here at this time of night,

"I kind of got into trouble at home and stormed out, this is the first place I thought of." I groans knowing that if anyone catches Nick then I am dead meat, but on the other hands it is kind of sweet that I am the first person he thought of for once. "And what does this have to do with you standing in my backyard?" I ask leaning out the window, "I was kind of hoping that I could crash here tonight?" I am not sure anymore if Nick is trying to give me a heart attack or if he is truly this reckless.

"What about your other friends?" I ask knowing the longer I stay here talking to him the more of a chance of someone discovering the stranger on our back lawn, "I am just exhausted and can't drive that far tonight." I am already regretting what is about to come out of my mouth, but my big heart is proving to be my down fall once again, "Alright you can stay the night, but you need to be gone in the morning." Nick smiles nodding his head as he starts climbing up the side of the house until he reaches my window.

"Hey there, beautiful night." He jokes and I roll my eyes as I go back to my side of the bed and Nick climbs into my room. 'Thanks for this by the way." Nick lays down on the bed letting out a few deep breaths, "Never mention to anyone." I say closing my eyes, and I have to say that a small part of me feels safer knowing that someone like Nick is next to me. "Sweet Dreams Little Dove." Nick whispers and his accent once again gets a reaction out of me, but it soon goes away as Nick places a small kiss on my head, and that is the last thing I remember of last night.
