Hidden In Plain Sight

The Escape

 "safety is a choice that I cannot control nor express to others."

I can never get a break. Even when I feel safe I know i'm not, he's after me wherever I hide he finds me, he always will.now I am here hiding in the forest with my friend James from the police.let me start from the beginning. I was sitting on my bed and look at the board above my head with my name on it. Natalie it said, James storms through the door " god dammit! If he listened to me he wouldn't have died." he said slamming his fist on the wall. The chalk dust from the board fell on my face. " do you even talk Natalie, nobody hears you talk.

" I talk, I just don't like to." I said "wait, you can talk?!" James's jaw dropped. He ran out the door, probably going to tell the rest of the kids that I can talk. I laid there and stared at the ceiling until " Natalie it's dinner and the she wolf is coming for this meal." Timmy said rushed. I jumped out of bed and ran downstairs to the table. " alrighty now who was the one who stole my necklace?!" she said, she continued yelling at us but I ignored her. But I heard Tiffany say " hey James did you steal it?" Tiff asked. " no I didn't and Natalie was in bed all day." James whispered back. We all looked at the one boy that was shaking, Timmy there was something hanging out of his pocket I stood up and pulled the thing out of his pocket. Yes it was, the necklace " TIMMY YOU STOLE IT! YOU ARE GROUNDED UNTIL MY ROOM IS SPOTLESS!!" she yelled. I got up and went back to my bed, I pulled out my bag, I packed my clothes two apples and a blanket.

" lights out! In your beds now." the she wolf staggered back down the hallway and into her room. I crept out of my bed the creaking of the floor as I stepped on the floor would creek I stopped glaced at the beds and Timmy and tiffany was sleeping and opened the window " Natalie, where are you going?" that's who I forgot James. I looked around to see James standing in the doorway. " I have no clue I am just leaving to find a better place." Natalie said crawling out of the window to the outside. " well then I am going with you." James said pulling his bad from under his bed.

There we were walking along the street, I felt like we had a sign over our heads saying take them back to the foster home. We took a sharp turn into a road that led to the forest. Just before we made it half of the way we heard " HEY YOU GET BACK HERE!!" the cop yelled. I looked at James and we had the same idea, Run. We took off running into the forest with no trail or map to follow.

He took my hand and pulled me into a ditch under a tree. The cop ran right by us. " I think he's gone." James said sitting up, now you are caught up I can continue,

We both got up and kept walking until " Hello, are you two lost?" a voice said. We froze and slowly turned around to see a man. " are you two looking for Haven High?" he asked. I looked at James, but he kept looking at the man. " um yes we are, we are lost and we never got our uniforms." James said.

" well here you go, and let me take you to Haven high." the man said handing us our uniforms.

That is when I knew that I was I a good place.
