I was about ready to go to the nurse and find out what power I had or even if I had one,I was tired of living like this. So I got up and looked at the clock it was 4 in the morning the pain in my side was killing me. But I know that I wasn't stabbed. I put on my hoodie that the foster home gave me. I opened the door and snuck out before James found out. The sound of me scoffing my shoes across the floor echoed but everyone else's dorm lights were shining from under the doors. I opened the door to the nurses office, I saw a tall slender man sitting behind the computer.

" um, hello i was wondering if mrs. Zoey was here?" I said, the man looked from his computer he seemed to stare right by me. " what can I help you with?" I looked across the small room to see Mrs. Zoey " Mrs. Zoey, can I talk to you?" I asked. He motioned me to follow her. We kept walking to the last room. I walked in and sat down on the bed she locked the door and sat down on the chair " I need to talk to you, Mr. Krupp listens to everything I say." she laughed, " but, I need to check something." she opened the door and pushed the button on the speaker " can James Evans please come to the nurses office thank you." when James showed up he looked tired, but when he saw me he looked like he was going to kill me.

" James, Natalie, follow me." she walked into the storage closet moved over a box and pulled a lever. " come on, before it closes." we rushed in, it was cramped I had to sit on a couple of boxes. So I wasn't too close to James. We dropped down about fifty feet down, when the door opened there was two bed's with something that looked like it was going to scan us.

" okay now go lay down and get comfy I need to check something." Mrs. Zoey said. James gave me this look like he was scared, I have never seen that face. Ever but I went and laid down on the bed. " okay now close your eyes and think of something happy but not something you wish you had." she said. I closed my eyes and tried to think of something happy. But I couldn't, the only thing that made me happy was the time the She wolf got me that black bike with a purple skull on the seat. I tried to ride it, I did for a little bit until I fell and scraped my knee. I sat there staring at the blood dripping down my leg until James came and helped me. That was the time that I met James. Why was that the only happy memory I had, but then I kept going through the memories that James was in. like the time I beat James in basketball or the time when I accidentally spilled my bucket of soapy water on his shirt, I was twelve then. I kept going through more until I heard " Nat, NAT! Girl wake up" I heard James say . He started shaking me I sat up " I. . I uh what happened?" I asked " your fine darling just come and see what power you got." Mrs. Zoey said

" James you got you can use any power you encounter. And Natalie you got Empath, that means you can feel other people's emotions and other people's pain. " she said " also if you need anything just come and find me. Any questions?" she asked. We said nothing Mrs. Zoey snapped her fingers and then my vision went black. I opened my eyes to see the roof of my dorm room. I sat up and ran over to James's room and there he was sleeping. Well I thought he was until I felt a pinch on my arm from where the pad that is on my arm. " James, you can stop checking my blood pressure." I said "it's not me, my phone is right there." he said pointing at the side table. "Wait who else can get into my blood pressure check?" I said " well the she wolf, but she has to be in a certain distance to check it and we are too far from the foster home. My phone I left it open when we went to the nurses office, Mrs. what's her name must have looked at it and linked her phone to your blood pressure pad."

I stormed out of the dorm over to Mrs. Zoey's office. " MRS.ZOEY!" I paused and took a deep breath. " mrs. Zoey did you chain your phone to my blood pressure pad ?" I asked " yes I did. Would you like me to unlink?" she said pulling out her phone. I opened my mouth to speak but no words came out. So I turned around and left the nurses office. I walked by the hospital wing and saw Ryan still in the hospital bed so I sat down in the chair next to him waiting for him to move, but he didn't not even a flinch.

I checked the clipboard on the edge of his bed, I looked for the release date. I saw it and dropped the clipboard the sound of the clipboard scared me as it echoed through the room. The line was blank would he never leave or did they not know when he was going to leave? I was so confused, I said goodbye to Ryan and walked back to my dorm. And like usual James was there standing in the hall asking me questions about where I went and who I was with.

I ignored him and started towards my room and of course he followed me but like normal I slam my door in his face. I flopped down onto my bed wondering one thing. Why do I have problems.
