Warnings: None unless you consider "Frick" a swear word.

Cassie's POV:

Obviously after the whole incident when I was a kid I was forced to do projects solo. So when I started school in Queens I continued to work on projects alone given that I always got good grades by doing so. Also unlike up in Canada, it doesn't snow all that often in Queens, and there wasn't nearly as much ice. But regardless it was still cold.

"Alright for the next week you will be doing a project.." my science teacher began as the bell rang for class to start. "In groups of two."

He then turned on a projector and revealed one of those large spinners. He was going to assign the partners.

"Ah lord..." I thought as I began to zone out while names were called.

Names were called one by one as I prayed to possibly be the last one and find a way to work by myself.

"Cassie Roxi." My name was called out. I snapped out of my thoughts and immediately sat upwards.

"I'm not getting out of this alone am I?" I thought as the spinner, down to the last 10 names, spun around and landed on a space.

"Cassie you'll be working with Peter Parker."

Well great. I've never done a group project before and I'm stuck with one of the smartest students in my class.

"Is that okay?" The teacher knew that I preferred doing things solo.

"Y-Yeah it's fine." I answered, obviously not wanting to seem like a douchebag.

"Awesome!"

As I left for class and went to my locker, thoughts crossed through my head. My little daze was interrupted when I heard Peter calling my name from across the hall. I looked up.

"Hey Cassie." He said.

"Hey."

"So... when and where do you want to work on the project?"

"Well you want to go to the library?" I suggested. I was usually there anyway.

He agreed than handed his phone to me, asking me to put my number in. I hesitantly punched my number into his phone. It was rare that anyone asked for my number.

"Does 5:00 work for you?" Peter asked me as I handed him his phone.

"Yeah 5:00 works for me." I said, nodding my head.

"Awesome. See you then!" He said before walking away to see his friend.

I carried on with my day, still lost in my thoughts about having to work with Peter. Though I wasn't exactly sure why I was so worried; he's actually a nice guy. Better I'm stuck with him than Flash. Still, hesitant about the whole idea, I went home and flopped onto my couch, placing my phone on the coffee table and slowly drifting off to sleep.

***

I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing on the coffee table across the room. I picked up my phone and saw a number I didn't recognize. I answered the call and put my phone to my ear, still laying down on the couch.

"Hello?" I said, still tired after waking up from my nap.

"Cassie it's 5:30 where are you?!" The voice on the other end asked.

I immediately knew Peter was on the phone, waiting for me in the library.

"Frick!!!" I shouted before leaping off my couch and running to the front door to get my coat and boots on. I grabbed my backpack and whipped it around my shoulder and grabbed my laptop before leaving my house.

"Everything okay?" Peter asked on the other end.

"Yeah; listen I'm so sorry I fell asleep and lost track of time!" I frantically exclaimed while running down the sidewalk.

"Hey it's alright Cassie."

"Cool. Be there in two."

"Later"

I hung up and put my phone in my pocket and continued to run down the sidewalk to the library.

"Frick frick frick frick FRICK!" I muttered kind of embarrassed at what had just happened.

I finally got to the library out of breath before going and finding Peter. I frantically apologized for what had happened and we finally got to work on that project. I never pulled that off again.

***

And after that week of just work, work and more work, Peter and I got a good old A on the assignment.

Peter's POV:

After the project I did with Cassie I decided I should go on a little patrol. I got back to my apartment after school and opened the door.

"Hey Pete." Aunt May shouted from the kitchen.

"Hey May!" I shouted back.

My aunt May came out of the kitchen to see me and I sat down on the couch.

"So tell me a little about the project. How'd that go?" My aunt asked.

"It went well." I said. "We got an A."

"Awesome. So this partner is also good?"

"Yeah she usually does projects alone."

"I see. I'll be in the kitchen cooking dinner!"

And with that, I went to my room and grabbed my homemade suit. I put the suit on and leaped out the window, swinging into action. I swung around the city, swinging onto buildings and trying to find bad guys to catch.

I heard a scream coming from the alley way and swung into action. But when I landed, I was surrounded. Fortunately, I managed to take down the majority but the last one pinned me to the back wall and held a knife to my chest.

"Not so strong now are you?" He menaced before freeing his teammates.

They crowded around me and pulled out their weapons. Before they could do anything, one realized that their gun was missing. There then was a gunshot from behind. They criminals turned around and I silently got back on my feet ready to fight them.

"What do you think you're doing here with that kid?"

Kid? Who could have possibly followed me here?

"Give me the gun and get out of here kid."

There was silence. I silently climbed onto the wall and saw the figure, Cassie. Cassie looked around the area before turning back to the criminals. The five grown men all grabbed their guns and aimed them at her.

"Hey, you don't want to do that." I said, getting down from the wall.

"Says the spider boy who can't even defeat a bunch of us!" The man without he gun laughed. They all continued to stare Cassie down.

"Unlike everyone else here, I'm not afraid of you..." She said, pushing harder on the trigger, ready to fire if she had to.

Before anything could happen, I fired a web to her shoulder and lifted her up to the top of a building.

A/N: Is 'Frick' really a swear or can I consider myself off the hook on that one?

A/N: Hope you enjoyed this chapter.

A/N: I wish I could get these chapters done faster but school is a thing so... homework. Lots of homework.
