Cassie's POV:

It's now 3 weeks into the new school year and already, we have a field trip. I walked home after school with the permission sheet in my backpack. When I got home, I took the sheet out of my backpack and had a quick look at it.

"31/09/17 to 04/10/17; yada yada yada, whatever..." I read out loud. I stopped at the bottom of the page, where a parent/guardian's signature was asked.

Well great. Both my parents are dead and so is my grandpa. Who am I supposed to ask? As quickly as I questioned it, I found an answer. I left the house and went across the street to my neighbour's house. He was a great friend of my grandpa's and I figured he would do the trick. I knocked on the door upon getting there.

"Oh, hey Cassie." He said as he opened the door.

"Hey Carl. I need to ask you a favour." I requested. Carl invited me inside.

"What can I do for you?"

I placed the permission sheet on the table in front of him. Carl got closer to read the paper. When he finished reading the sheet, he grabbed a pen and signed the sheet, putting all of his information in before handing it back to me.

"Thank you so much!" I said as I walked to the door."

"Not a problem!" Carl said, smiling.

I left his house with a smile and opened the door to my house. I've been to Washington and stuff because of Clubs. Those were a lot of fun. Though one issue that I realized a few days later, after I gave in the sheet: I didn't pay attention to where we were going.

Few days went by and I was in geography class. Just like all of my other classes, I sat near the back, next to MJ. I was sort of zoning out while he was talking about the field trip.

"So as you know, your trip to Canada will last 5 days..." he brought up.

"Wait, we're going to Canada?!" I thought. My mind stopped. I didn't pay attention to the sheet when I read it.

Of all places in Canada, we were actually staying relatively close to where I used to live. At least, in the same city.

We left the class for lunch though instead of going straight to the cafeteria, I went to the washroom instead.

"No no no; this can't be happening." I muttered to myself, almost having a panic attack. By this point, we were a few days away from the trip and it was too late to not go. I had no choice but to go.

Cassie's POV:

This was it. It was the day of the trip. Carl drove me to the airport where I can see several of my classmates including Flash (little douchebag, why did they put him in my class?) and Peter. I got out of the car and went into the trunk, pulling out my two suitcases (that actually belonged to my parents) and turned to the driver's seat through the window. Carl rolled the window down.

"Enjoy your trip Cassie! See you in a few days!" He exclaimed.

I nervously smiled and waved before walking away, into the airport, to try and find the rest of my class. Or, at least MJ. I eventually found my teacher and my group as we made our way through the airport. I joined MJ on the airplane. The flight was about 7 hours. I got off the airplane and felt chills from my childhood down my spine. My classmates never noticed the weird looks I was getting so that made me feel a little better.
