Weekend in Vail pt.4

Arriving Back at the cabin you, Tom and Robert walked into the cabin and I heard little footsteps and i heard little squels of Avri and exton running to their dad.

Robert: hey guys, guess whose here? Y/n!!
Avri and Exton then ran to me and hugged my legs.
Exton: hey y/n. Are we going to make cookies?
Y/n: yes we are little man. Would you like me to teach you how to make my grandmas gingerbread man recipe? I already told your mom what to get when she told me that y'all wanted to make cookies.
*Exton and Avri jumped up and down saying yes and dragged me into the kitchen*

Y/n: let me go change then I'll be right back. I promise.
Exton: okie dokie.

(You quickly changed and came back down to the kitchen).

Y/n: okay let's get started. First did everyone wash their hands?
(The two kids shake there heads yes, and you see Susan say yes behind them)
Ok great first off thanks to your mom all of our ingredients are set out for us. First we need to lay flour down in the cutting board. Exton do you want to help me with that?
Exton: yes ma'am.
Y/n: awesome buddy. What your going to do is take a little bit of flour like this (you have a little bit of it in your hand) then you will sprinkle it all over the cutting board. That way once our dough has set up and is ready to roll out it won't stick to the board.
Exton: cool. Is this good?
Y/n: that's perfect buddy. Avri do you want to help me and your brother make the dough for the gingerbread men?
Avri: yes
Y/n: awesome. Come on over here and we will start. Okay first off we are going to need to cream together our butter and brown sugar. Which just means that we have to combined them together until they look kind of like a thick frosting on a cake. So Avri do you want to put the 1/2 cup of butter in the mixing bowl and Exton will you put the 3/4 cup brown sugar in.
Avri and Exton: done!! What's next this is so fun.
Y/n: well we are going to mix those together with 1/3 cup molasses, 1 large egg and 2 tablespoons water in the mixer while we combine our other ingredients in a separate bowl.
Exton: what's molasses?
Y/n: it's a thick sweetener very similar to maple syrup like you put on your pancakes or waffles but it's more deep and rich in flavor. My granddaddy loved molasses.
Exton: that's cool. I bet he would've liked these cookies.
Y/n: yes I think he would have buddy. How about your mom helps you add those ingredients to the mixer while I work on the dry ingredients in the separate bowl.
Exton: ok y/n.

(Susan came and helped her children whilst you added together 2-2/3 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt
,2 teaspoons ground ginger, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg and 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice)

Y/n: okay guys let's combine all of this.

(Exton and Avri helped you put the dry ingredients into the mixer and helped you push start).

Y/n: Okay guys now that our mixture is made we need to let it set up so we cut them into shapes. How about we get Christmas pajamas on while it sets?
Avri and Exton: yeah Christmas!!!

*they ran out of the kitchen so fast *
Susan: your really good with kids sweetie.
Y/n: thank you. I absolutely adore them. They just have a spirit of happiness and love that I love. I want at least three myself. Haha.
Susan: well from what I've seen you'll be a great mom. Now go get your pjs on missy.
Y/n: okay mom.

(You and the kids got your pjs on and came back to the dough already rolled out by Susan)
Y/n: okay guys. Y'all look awesome. Let's make some gingerbread men and women.

*you cut up the men and women from shapes Susan had found in the kitchen and the kids joked around how one looked like Robert. You put the cookies into the oven to bake and you waited.*

Y/n: okay kiddos who wants to serve our guests some cookies and some hot cocoa?
Exton: me!!!!!
Y/n: okay!

(You put the cookies on a tray that he could hold and let him carry that while you carried a pitcher of hot cocoa and mugs)
Y/n: Hello guys and gals, gingerbread men/women and hot cocoa are served.

*Exton proudly handed out the cookies and you followed behind him with the hot cocoa.*

You sat down with your share in a a big fluffy chair and Exton came climbing up on your lap. You smiled at him and you ate your cookies with him.

You got a notification that you were tagged in a photo by RDJ. So you opened up the Instagram app.

You thought to yourself that this is the family you've always wanted. Besides your biological family. You have wonderful friends who care for you and share their life with you and let you share yours with them and their families.  Life is good.

You and Exton drifted asleep in the chair. And were awoken by Robert and Tom dressed as Santa dancing around the room.

Tom: good morning love and little guy. It's Christmas time in Downey town.
Exton: yea!!! My favorite time.
Y/n: it's what time?
Robert: ok the last day of my weekend getaway I give everyone a gift for Christmas. And this year Tom has bribed me into playing Santa as well.
Y/n: oh ok. Haha. Well I feel bad because I don't have you anything yet.
Robert: it's okay. You bringing joy to my kids is enough of a gift. Avri asked when aunt y/n can come for a sleepover at home. And Exton fell asleep clutching onto you. So I think they like you.
Y/n: aww. I really like them too.
Robert: well your gift was a group effort from me and Jon. So I hope you like it. Let me go get it. I like to give them out personally. I am The Godfather after all 😉

(Robert came back in with a medium sized wrapped gift and handed it to me)

Robert: go ahead. I heard that you've been a marvel fan since you were a kid and Iron Man and Captain America are your favorites. And well since your dating captain America I didn't get you anything related to that.
Y/n *opening the gift*: OMG is this.. this is one of the original Tony stark arc reactors from Iron Man 1. And what's this, is this a happy hogan ID badge?
Robert: yes. It's Jon's from the second movie. Do you like it?
Y/n *getting up and hugging him*: do I like it? This is the best gift I've gotten in my life. Besides Watson of course. Thank you so much. Are you sure you want to give it to me?
Robert: of course y/n. I did what I did in the marvel universe so that a new generation like you and Tom could continue inspiring younger people like I inspired you. And you are doing amazing things and I wanted to give my thanks to you for carrying on the legacy of greatness.
Y/n: your going to make me cry Robert. Haha. But genuinely thank you so much. This will be displayed in my movie room in my loft. Next to my captain America shield haha.

**the day continued with fun activities and lunch and then everyone packed up and headed back to there respective places.**

You are now headed back to New York where peter has Watson. And Chris and is now there at your place. Then the three of you and Watson will head out the end of the following week to NC.
