Previously on "Expect the Unexpected":

Y/n had been making dinner when there was a knock on her door and when she opened it it was Peter Scanavino. A man who used to be her best friend until his unrequited love got in the way. Now he was standing in the doorway of her and her fiancées home. Which was hours from his.

Y/n's POV

Y/n: Peter?

Peter: hi y/n, it's been a while.

Y/n: yes it has, uhm come on in.

Peter: *comes into the house and looks around*.  So is Chris here?

Y/n: no, he's in London. Is everything okay? Did something happen with the kids?

Peter: the kids are fine. I just had the feeling it was time to talk to you.

Y/n: oh, well you could've easily called. You didn't need to drive all the way down here.

Peter: I thought it would be better to talk in person.

Y/n: okay. Let talk then.

Peter and I made our way to the living room. On my way I grabbed my grilled cheese and a water. Once in the living room we both sat down.

Y/n: so... why now?

Peter: this time in isolation has made me realize that I was selfish not to consider your feelings.

Y/n: thank you for admitting that. I'm sorry I didn't see that you felt the way you did, and that I kind of pushed my relationship in your face.

Peter: I know there's hurt, and I know there's pain for both of us. I regret the choices I made. How do I say I'm sorry?

Y/n: by being the best friend that used to sing Mamma Mia with me at all hours of the night. And the best friend who was there during my toughest times.

Peter: I think I can do that.

With that i gave him a hug but told him I needed to make a call. Even though it was in try middle of the night in London I knew that it was the best thing to do by calling Chris. Chris groggily answered and I told him what was going on. He told me to be sure to stand my ground and also that he supported my decision to reconcile with Peter. He told me that he loved me and that he would be home soon. I gave him my love and hung up the phone.

*back downstairs*

Peter: I'm going to head out so I'm not to tired.

Y/n: are you sure? It's a drive back to ny.

Peter: yeah, I have to get the kids tomorrow afternoon. But I'll call you later.

Y/n: okay. Please be safe, and Peter?

Peter: yeah?

Y/n: thank you for coming

Peter: you're welcome
