That next morning, Maddy woke up up and stretched as far as she could, then got out of bed.

As she walked to the kitchen, she could hear the sizzle and crack of food in a pan. Ellie was standing at the stove, cooking something that looked like an omelet.

"Good morning, Ellie," Maddy yawned.

"Hi, Maddy. How's it going this morning?"

"Absolutely wonderful."

"Good."

Ellie took the omelet out of the pan and split it in half and slid one half onto one plate then the other half on another. "Go on, eat up."

Maddy took the plate and set it down on the bar. She climbed onto the seat then started eating.

"Jeesh, Mads. Slow down," Ellie said.

Maddy smiled and contended playfully "Hey, if im hungry im hungry. Don't judge. Plus, I didn't eat last night."

"Ellie shook her head and said "Well, thats your own fault."

After a few minutes, they were both done. With the dishes cleaned and everything put up, Maddy went back to her room to take a shower. Before she did anything, she checked her phone. To her suprise, she found one new message.

And it was from Jake.

She read:

Hey, Maddy. I was wondering if you'd like to come to my apartment today so we can practice. You know, look over our parts.

Maddy texted:

Yeah, of course. Do you think could swing by Calypso's Coffee Shop at five-thirty?

In a couple of seconds, Jake responded:

Sure. Where is it?

Maddy told him where it was and said:

See you later.

He said back:

Yeah, later.

Maddy smiled to herself and went into the bathroom to get ready for work.

Later that day, Maddy was at the coffee shop, bouncing up and down in excitement.

She was going to see Jake.

Maddy was oddly excited for some reason reason. It was proably because he was a new friend. A lot of people experience that kind of feeling with a brand new friend.

Or maybe it was because he was cute.

Which ever one it was, Maddy couldn't wait to hang out with him. It was like high school all over again.

"What's got you all hyped up?" Calypso asked.

"I'm seeing a friend today," Maddy answered.

"Oh, really." Cal raised an eyebrow.

"Really."

"Before you start bouncing of the walls, go outside and get some fresh air."

"Thanks, Cal."

"No problem, sweetie."

Maddy pushed through the door. A fresh wave of cool air hit her in the face. She started pacing back and forth, looking at the ground.

She had a bad habbit of doing that.

Out of nowhere, Maddy banged into a hard chest. She jumped back like ten feet and yelled "Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry! Are you-"
