The first meeting was a good turn out. They talked about the show, how they could make it better than last year. Of course, Maddy couldn't say anything about last year's performance, but she did comment on a couple things. She did actually go to one of the shows last year for school. And she's watched the show so many times. It was actually her favorite. And playing Elphaba made her extremely happy, almost joyful.
After the meeting, people started leaving the theatre. Maddy was about to head home when Becka and Ty came up to her. Maddy took to using Ty instead of Tyler. She kind of found it easier to say, even it wasn't a hard name to pronounce.
"Hey, me and some friends are going to a diner down the street. Do you want to come?" Becka asked.
"Yeah, sure," Maddy said.
Maddy put on her jacket, gloves and scarf, then went to wait by the lobby door.
Ty and Becka came out with several other people, all talking. There was, however, one person lerking in the back of the group. He watched everybody, silently observing.
"Okay, you guys all know Maddy. She's going to come with us. And I see some other newbies coming with us, too. That's good," Ty said to the group of people.
Some people nodded their head and some just ignored him.
Tyler shook his head and walked out of the door. Maddy followed. A huge gust of wind her in the face, and it was snowing even more than it was. It would be miserable for Maddy when she went home. She didn't have a car, but she could ask for a cab, but that would be a lot of money. She pushed the thought of her mind. Sh ewould deal with that later.
She ended up being in the back of the group, like always. She wasn't really comfortable being around people she didn't know. I t was different with performing in front of people, though. She's not herself, she ecomes the character. She puts everything she learned and all her heart and soul into the part she's playing.
Things just don't flow as well as they should when she's talking to people.
Maddy stared at the ground as she walked. Why did I even come? She asked herself.
"I don't know. Why did you come?"
Whoops, did I say that out loud? She thought to herself agian. Well, at least. she thought she did.
"Yeah, you did."
Just shut up stupid head voice, she actually thought.
Maddy finally looke up to find herself staring into a pair of emerald green eyes.
It was the guy that was lerking in the back of the group.
"Hi, I'm Jake."
Maddy grinned sheepishly at him. She scratched her head and said "I'm Maddy...yeah, um. Sorry about that. That was...unusual. I was kind of thinking to myself, but I guess I said it out loud."
"It's okay, I do that all the time." He gave Maddy a cute smile.
Maddy smiled, too, and kept on walking with Jake right by her side.
Finally they got to to the diner. It was a little place, with a tiny sign outside, and only booths lining the glass windows. There was a bar with cairs pushed underneath them. There wasn't very many people in there, and like any other old diner, they had cheeseburgers, chili dogs, fries, shakes, and coffee.
Maddy loved it because it reminded her of one of her favorite shows called Once Upon A Time.
"New season already, Becka?" A sweet looking older lady asked.
