Why live when you are dead?
My name's Kael. I hated my life because I was controlled. Not in the way you might think, though. Let me back up a bit.
Years ago, our world was on the verge of destruction by us, the government invented a machine that would brainwash you, then implant new memories. So you could stop a whole war with this. The only problem is that those brainwashed people needed to be controlled by the people who implanted the memories. So the government controls us.
And, to make things better, they brainwashed your childhood. When you are born, they implant a chip that controls you. It was only a prototype, because my parents were developing the best version.
They invented the system later, but the government in return would brainwash them. So when I told them of my troubles, they didn't show anything. Great parents, right?
The only person that could help was my twin brother, Marcus. He helped me so much, because he was going through the same thing. He lived a better life than me, but still hated it.
Growing up, life was hard. Probably because of the fact that we had no attention at all, because my parents were still developing the system. I had no help. When I started to cry, I would cry until I couldn't continue.
Even going to school was hard. When I was trying to pay attention, my implant would force me to lie down my head, then get in trouble. My life was terrible. But nothing could have prepared me for what would have happened.
