Chapter Twelve: Kael

I was in a box that was moving. I could see nothing, and my chest was killing me. I could remember what happened, but why? Why was I shot?

A light opened, and I saw a visiting area. There was the woman that shot me, and a group of people. They were all whispering and laughing. I looked at myself, and I was in a straitjacket.

Then, all of a sudden, I plunged into darkness.

I woke with the sound of screaming. I was in the room where I was shot, and there was a woman. She was on the ground, and the woman yanked out two black poles from her legs. She was in the same situation as me.

I walked up to the girl on the ground, and tried to touch her. When I did, I fell to the ground. The woman walked up to me and said "Why struggle when you know you will die?" She pulled out a handgun and shot me square in the face.

I woke up in this room with millions of kids in it. Every kid had these wires around their heads. I yanked the wires from my head and started to get up when an alarm went off. I started to stumble away from the mess when an arm reached out and grabbed me. It was Marcus.

He said to me "We need to get out. I have been in here for over three months, trying to get out."

I started to run to the one opening in the room when I fell to the ground. The door slid open and there were guards everywhere. They grabbed me and took me away. I didn't even try to give up. I knew I was going to die. They grabbed me and dragged me out of the room. There was a hallway that looked like it would never end. They kept on dragging me down it.

When they finally got me to the end, the door opened and it led out to a balcony at least 10 stories high. They brought me up, and pushed me over the edge.

I started to pray, even though it wouldn't work. I started to hope and hope-
