I waddle my way out of my bedroom in my sweatpants and T-shirt and orient myself through the seemingly endless hallways of the Bangtan penthouse. At this point, I should really have someone make me a map of it, because I still can't tell where anything is besides my room at the kitchen, as it should be.
At some point, I stumble into a bookhouse. A library?? I'm not sure, I got into university by legacy and money. Inside is a tall, big-tiddied man, sitting back to the door.
"Ah, Namjoon oppa!" I laugh nervously when he catches me watching him read. "Can you help me with something?"
"Of course, Y/N. Come sit here." Namjoon points at the sofa positioned beside the largest bookcase. "What do you need help with?"
"Oh, uh... Calculus. I'm not doing very well." I sit down hesitantly, the binder and textbook on my lap. I dig through my binder folder to produce my last test. "See?"
Namjoon's eyes widen like a goldfish behind his glasses. "You got a -73% on your test???"
"I'm not very smart haha." I stare at my toes in disappointment. I still have 10. Good.
"What part are you studying right now?" Namjoon takes the textbook from my hand and flips through it.
"Uh... the der... doritos... dominos... dominant..."
"Derivatives?"
"Oh, yeah that."
Namjoon glides a finger over the lines of letters in the textbook. Isn't it math? Why aren't there any numbers? "What part are you struggling with?"
I glance back at my test paper, which is practically completely covered in red pen. "All of it."
"Ah... I see." He produces a piece of scratch paper from under his legs and a pen in the other. He uses his middle finger to push his glasses up on his nose bridge.
"So you see, when you take the derivative of something, it can be written as dx over dy or y prime of just regular d over dy, depending on how its written. You can use the definition of the derivative to find it, which is the limit as h approaches zero f of x plus h minus f of x divided by h. Have you learned the product rule or the chain rule yet?"
Are those words even English? I think. Maybe I should ask him for help in that too.
I just nod and pretend I understand everything he just spewed out of his smart mouth.
"Good, then this should be rather simple. If you move the power and multiply it by the constant...
He drones on, pointing at the letters he's writing on the paper. I get lost in the dreamy lull of his voice, until my eyes slowly begin to close, and my head falls to the side onto his shoulder.
[pov change] [namjoon pov]
I feel the pressure of the beautiful angle's head on my shoulder and sigh. She's not too bright, but as long as I get to flex my 148 IQ to her, it's alright. She doesn't need to understand derivatives and integrals to love me.
I move her notes and textbook aside, and loop my arms under her kneecaps and her back. I try my best to lift, but I don't spend my time at the gym like some people. [cough cough Juncoko] I prefer spending my time in the library. I'm not like other boys.
Lifting her off the couch, I struggle to get past the door and down the hallway, and I stumble like a drunk man [cough cough Yongyu] until I almost get to her room. But it all happens in slow motion. Her body slips from my arms like a slippery slide, like spaghetti slipping off my spoon. She falls helplessly to the ground, and her head clunks against the hardwood floors. Oh fuck.
I guess it's time to yeet.
