"Please forgive me, I know that I'm stingy!" My bestfriend Lashay sanged, turning the radio up. "Your sister really snapped." She said putting her lipgloss on.
"Yeah. Summer vocals really be hitting." I said feeling like a proud big sis. "Anyways, who all gone be at this cookout?" I asked. We were heading to mama East house for a "small" family get together.
"You know Auntie be having them big ass cookouts." She said trying to think on who gone be there. "But my whole family probably, your mama, Shy, Shawn, Rico, Zay, Anthony, Kendrick, and Dave." I rolled my eyes at the point that Dave is coming.
"Shouldn't he be on tour or something." I stated with attitude. Lashay started laughing. "LaLa that shit ain't funny. You should have told me anyway."
"Well, you wouldn't leave me alone anyway." She said making a point. We always together at every family event we have.
"You right or whatever." I rolled my eyes playfully. We pulled into the yard and saw some of the older men playing cards on the porch.
"Hey y'all!" Lashay said as we hugged everyone around the table.
"Hey Beautifuls." Uncle Henry said. "Wifey should be in the kitchen" He said referring to mama East.
We headed to the kitchen stopping to greet family in the livingroom.
"TETE!" I looked down seeing my niece Lauren hugging my legs. I picked her up and kissed all over her face. "I missed you." She said squeezing my neck tight.
"Awe. Tete missed you too." I smiled. "Hey big booty." I laughed smacking my older sister butt.
"You already know." She said whining her hips around as we hyped her up. "I missed your ugly ass." She kissed my cheek.
"Hey Ms. Celebrity makeup artist" Mama East said giving me a big hug. "I missed you pooh!" She said letting go.
"I missed you too. Did you get the basket I got for you." I smiled. "I'm sorry I missed the birthday dinner." I said.
"Awe Sage. As long as I got to hear a happy birthday from you that's what matters." She hugged me one me more time.
"Where mama at Shy?" I asked. She pointed towards the back patio. Me and LaLa walked back there.
"Hey mommy." I walked over and hugged her.
"Hey squirt." She smiled and kissed my cheek. "How have you been?" We sat and caught up with eachother for a bit.
"Hey Rie. Auntie want us to ride to store." Lala said peeking out the door. I nodded and grabbed my bag.
"Lauren. You want to come with Tete?" I asked grabbing her hand. She nodded. Lala grabbed the list from mama East and we headed back out.
