                          third person.
it was shouto's third period when he walked in the class, taking his seat before turning his head to meet with a head of broccoli.

"hey, uh.." todoroki tapped onto the boys shoulder. "could you maybe move over a bi-"

green hair. freckles.

'shit,' shouto thought: 'he's deaf. sign with him.'

"oh— i'm sorry," the half coloured boy signed. his expression lifted once he saw the short boy smile in forgiveness, "no." he replied. "i'm sorry. let me move over."

todoroki grinned as a response, taking out his writing utensils and a notebook. he concentrated on the board while writing down the notes the teacher had given them, hand eventually getting tired. he waited a second before writing again.

"hey! got a pencil?" shouto heard a voice say near him, his attention averting toward the sound. they were talking to midoriya.

the freckled boy pulled out a pencil, handing it to them before the boy laughed. "couldn't you just say 'yeah'?"

izuku frowned, quickly writing on his paper the words 'im deaf."

the boy laughed again, making todoroki wince with anger. "that's unfortunate, isn't it?"

the new kid scratched his neck, looking down. the boy spoke once again. "hey," he hit midoriya on the shoulder lightly. "look at me when i'm talking to you. that's a bit disrespectful, isn't it—"

"hey, how about you stop fucking talking to him, eh?" shouto stood up, in front of izuku.

"oh, look at that, tokito." the boy looks at his friend before looking back at todoroki. "pretty boy wants to be the hero."

"no one wants to do anything, so stop being a dick and leave him alo-"

"todoroki-kun, daiki-kun, please stop interrupting the class and take a seat." akari sensei cut them off, instructing them to do what was told.

daiki huffed angrily before bumping into shouto's shoulder purposely and sitting down.

todoroki sighed, turning around and taking a seat and giving a sad look toward midoriya.

the green haired boy turned to the side after seeing that sensei's attention was off of them, "i don't know what happened, but thank you"

shouto was a little bit confused, writing down on his notebook and showing it to him. "could you try going slower? i'm still learning.."

"sorry!" izuku quickly apologized, going slowly. "i.. don't know what.. happened.. but thank you"

"ah." todoroki understood, writing down again. "that guys a douche. i just fixed the problem."

midoriya gave shouto grateful eyes, writing down a question. "why are you learning?"

"my sisters deaf. i started taking classes two weeks ago"

izuku nodded before smiling. 'it's nice to have someone who can sign a little.. better than nothing.'

todoroki leaned back in his seat before concentrating on the board again, grinning slightly as he remembered that he had a few classes with this boy, knowing he could help him if something like that happened again.

"uh.." shouto hummed, tapping on midoriya's back before their eyes meet. "my name is.. todo—roki.. shouto" the half and half haired boy smiled while he signed slowly, being slightly proud at himself.

"izuku midoriya. call me deku." the shorter boy signed, writing down again. "i know it's a little weird.. but i prefer it. you don't need to call me that if you don't wanna,"

todoroki nodded.
