Charlie jumped out of bed at the sound of her alarm and slipped her pale feet into her slippers. She looked at herself in the mirror and pulled over a long white blouse, but frowned at the giant red 'R' printed on the middle. She decided to ignore it and pull a black beanie of her brown hair and pushed her glasses onto her face.

She wandered into the bathroom and took a quick, cold shower before brushing her teeth and waking up Solosis.

"Sooli," she whispered and pulled a master ball out of her suitcase, "we need to look into that black and pink figure we saw yesterday. If I can track it down, I can catch it and research it better." Sooli gurgled and bobbed up and down in excitement. Charlie smiled, Sooli had always shown excitement to her projects.

Charlie pulled the chair out from under her desk and she began researching powerful pokemon from island history.

"Gosh, there's no internet here," she sighed and slammed her laptop closed and drummed her fingers on the table.

"I think there's a library in this hotel somewhere. I'll go check it out, you gonna come?" Charlie looked at Sooli with a smile. Sooli nodded and followed Charlie to the door. As she cracked it open she looked backwards at her desk. She paused and reached for her master ball and Rotom-Recorder, slipping them into her purse.

"Just in case," she grinned at Sooli and closed the door behind her. She wandered down the sleek hallway and pushed her glasses up her nose. As she turned the corner, she walked straight into a man her age with his eyes glued to a book he was reading.

They immediately fell onto their knees and the man's book flew out of his hand and landed open in front of Charlie.

"Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry!" Charlie expressed and pushed her glasses back onto her face. She looked down at the book in front of her and looked at the cover,

"Beasts and legends of Alola?" she whispered and looked up at the man. He quickly gasped and swiped the book back up before standing straight and clearing his throat. Charlie stood up in front of him and smiled. He didn't smile back.

"My sincerest apologies, I didn't mean to bump into you. I'm Charlie. Charlie Commons," she introduced herself and held her hand out. The man sighed and reluctantly shook it back,

"Kafu. Just Kafu, you don't need to know me as anything else," he gripped his book tighter, "and you shouldn't know me in the first place! Why am I even introducing myself to you? Ugh."

Kafu grumbled to himself and began slouching away. Charlie scowled, rude! She folded her arms and huffed, how dare he!

She sighed, she couldn't let some grumpy man get in the way of her research. She pulled her recorder out of her purse and clicked the button.

"Akala Island log day two, I've just had an encounter with a very rude man my age named Kafu, but bumping into him I made a discovery perfect for my research," Charlie smiled and continued walking down the hallway, "he was reading a book on Alolan Beasts and Legends. The page he was turned onto had a similar diagram to the figure I saw after what I thought was one of my migraines. Its name was Tapu Lele. I couldn't read further than that, but as I'm on my way to Tide Song Hotel Library, I should be able to do more research into it."

Someone walked past Charlie and looked at her with a raised eyebrow for talking to seemingly no one. Charlie smiled as wide as possible and forced a friendly wave. As soon as they were past her, she sighed and pulled her recorder from behind her back.

"Still, I'm not sure I'll be able to cope with all these people here that could possibly come as a distraction to my research. Now that I've started, I can afford any diversions that could take away from my hunger for knowledge," Charlie's eyes widened and her lips curled into a grin, "I'll be the smartest and no one will get in the way of me knowing everything about powerful pokemon!"

Sooli gurgled in agreement. Charlie's fists clenched and she clicked the recorder off and smiled in front of a pair of double doors with the sign 'Library' engraved into it.

She was about to step in before a thought hit her mind.

She slipped to the side and behind a potted Palm Tree,

"Although, now that I think about it, why was that Kafu researching Powerful legends and beasts anyway? And why so dedicatedly? When I did a social experiment two years ago, people just reading for fun wouldn't be so protective over their book! Could he be researching powerful Pokemon such as Tapu Lele as well? Could he have made a massive discovery on his own before me about such pokemon? These thoughts are really winding me up," Charlie gritted her teeth and scowled, "I want to know EVERYTHING about these amazing Alolan pokemon, and I want to know everything first!"

Charlie looked in the direction Kafu wandered off in. She scowled even harder.

"And as Team Rocket always taught us, if someone stands in your way, you Blast them Off!"
