A week later, Remy went back to youth group with her boyfriend. 

This time, the pastor seemed to be speaking directly to her. He said that nobody was saved because of their parents. You had to make your faith your own. It had to be your repentance and your belief.

He also said that you had unfathomable worth in Christ. Jesus loved you, He died for you, and He was calling you to pick up your cross and follow Him.

Remy knew in that moment that she needed Jesus. She realized she was a sinner, living for herself. She knew that Jesus was her only way to be saved from her fate if she continued living the way she did.

So, in that moment, Remy got down on her knees.
