Hannah was born was born In Budapest Hungary. Sadly in 1921 her father died, she was only 6 years old. All over Europe during the 1920s and 1930s, Jewish people were being treated very badly. People didn't like them because of there religion. Hannah always dreamed of a world we're all people were treated equally no matter there religion, race,
sex or physical or mental disabilities. A movement called Zionism was growing stronger people like Hannah had hopes that Jewish people could get there own homeland where they could live happily and freely. Hannah joined the Zionist group for students. When she graduated her and her family moved to Palestine like many other Jewish families in hope for their on homeland. When she was in Palestine she joined a School which she studied agriculture. She also worked on a farm with other Jewish people. When she was there she wrote many songs many still sung today.

After a while she got bored of just doing laundry all day. She wanted to make a bigger difference. So Hannah joined a group which was a group of special fighters in Palestine that eventually became Israel's Defence forces. Back in Europe World War II had begun. One of the main causes was Hitler and his Nazis because he was treating Jewish people so badly. Hannah wanted to fight the Nazis like many other young Jewish people. She joined the British army in 1943 as part of the women's Air Force she trained as a special operations spy. After training in Egypt she parachuted into the Hungarian border and working for three months she was fighting the Nazis. But then when she was helping some Jewish people escape Hungary she was caught and arrested as a spy. The police beat her and treated her terribly to try and get her secrets out but she refused to give in. She tried to lift this spirits up of other prisoners. After being badly hurt she used the mirror to flash signals out of the window to the other prisoners and made letters that she held up to tell secret messages. The Nazis put her on a very unfair trial and despite her bold speech he was sentenced to death and instead of wearing a blindfold she decided to look her killers in the eye. She was shot by a firing squad she was only 23 years old.
