Rohan used to set alarm for 6:30 am on Monday mornings. It wasn't to prepare for an exam or go to the gym, but to get the earliest access to the Game of Thrones TV show, which premieres around that time in India. The season finale was on air last week, unfortunately, his smartphone wasn't smart enough to recognize this. The routine Monday alarm, which was operational since the GOT season got underway, is ringing this morning too. He decided to snooze it for a few minutes. He tried to snooze it again.....again....and again.... and in reality, it was never really a few minutes as he felt. It was half-past 7 and he did straighten up from the bed in utter panic.

The only thing covering his nudity in bed was a printed boxer. Real men are like that, you know "Uff.. getting ready in 30 mins! Don't think I can make it to the wards today", he uttered to himself in sheer disbelief. Well, its just one week into his clinical postings, but he had already made a bad impression of himself. The Gynaecology Professor had already given him a warning last week for being late. He doesn't expect her to be too lenient this time around.

He grasped his toothbrush in urgency and turned towards the toothpaste. "Hell, yeah!" he said to himself looking at shrunken toothpaste tube. Last few days he has been using his fingers, his palms, his ballpoint pen, his bike keys and almost everything in his armoury to flatten out that tube to squeeze out that last drop of fluoride left, yet he couldn't spare some time to get a new one. He has only one option left with that tube now. Yes, to cut open the tube and scrape out whatever left. In order to do that, he needed a blade, and he tried to reach for the blade situated in the cupboard. Suddenly one thing struck his eyes, the razor. He was thinking of trimming and cleaning up whatever little beard he possessed. To do that alone, without taking a noticeable length of his beard consumes a bit of time and hence he decided to drop the plan.

The brushing routine was done in about 2 minutes. He then rushed to the bathroom only to see all the available bathroom chambers pre-occupied. And to make it even worse a few other guys were in the queue as well. He realized its better to give up some morning routines for the sake of saving his day.

You don't usually associate words like delicious, mouth-watering, heavenly with hostel food. And when it comes to messing food in "Men's hostel 3 ", even the word palatable is considered a luxury. Hence Rohan used to limit his breakfast to one glass of self-prepared coffee and if time permits, he would prepare a cup of Maggi noodles. Being a coffeeholic, slow release of caffeine is enough to boost himself for a good portion of the day. While sipping his routine cup of coffee, Rohan was simultaneously choosing his outfit for the day.

There is no hard and fast rule that a medical student must always be dressed up in formals. But that doesn't mean you have the licence to step into college wearing T-Shirts, pyjamas and flip flops. He always insisted on dressing up well as he often says to his friends "if you can't act like a doctor, then at least make yourself look like a doctor". The general rule in typical Indian hostels is that everything you own, including your inner wears, is considered public property. The surplus of commodities in his wardrobe meant his room was a frequent hang out place for his fellow hoteliers.

He was never accustomed to using a watch, so he had to unlock his phone every time to know the time. It said 7:55 am, and he has 5 minutes left, those are 5 minutes between hell and heaven. He rushed for keys of his brand new 'Royal Enfield'. Thankfully, today was one of the rarest occasions his key was within the sight of his eyes. He gasped in gratitude.

While going out with a rush, he felt something was not in place, "Did I miss anything?". He searched his pockets, and then it struck him "my phone wasn't there... Let me think. What did I do? Think again. Oh nooo... I left it on the bed". " Do I need to go back and get it? Well, You're fine without the phone baby", he convinced himself he could survive the day without a phone.

While riding through the medical college premises, he could no longer appreciate the beauty of huge buildings on either side of the road. Its only early hours of the day yet he could spot many anxious looking faces in the hospital premises. After parking his bike, Rohan wanted to choose the easiest available path to the Gynaecology department. In the corridors of the hospital, there was great bustle and activity. A number of stretchers with patients are on the move, so are the wheelchairs. Doctors and nursing staff in their white attire were moving up and down. All these things were hard of any interests to our hero who is in for a race against time.
He looked at the large clock in front of the Gynaecology department. It was in fact 10 minutes past eight.

Will he be able to make it to the class?
