Link POV

I open my eyes to find myself surrounded by trees. I'm laying on the ground. I sit up and look around. My first instinct is to seek shelter immediately, maybe even build one. Night time tends to summon strong creatures. I look up at the sky. If I can see what position the moon is in, I can determine the time of night. And that should tell me if shelter is necessary. But when I look at the moon, I don't notice it's position, only it's condition. It's... fractured. Damn you, Gannon. What did you do... Gannon. I remember my last encounter with him.

Flashback

I'm being restrained by tentacles made of pure darkness. Gannon looks me in the eye.
Gannon: Hmm. What to do with you?

I struggle to get out of his grasp, but I can't get free.

Gannon: My mistake was thinking I killed you... but I want to relish in your failure...

His lips curl into one of the evilest smiles I've ever seen.

Gannon: Yes that will do. A quaint little world, and you'll still break apart. But if you go to the right people, they could get you back here. Hmm.

He raises another dark tendril.

Gannon: Consider the painlessness of this next action the extent of my mercy.

He thrusts his tendril into my neck and pulls out a small light.

Gannon: Don't worry, it's nothing important. Just your voice.

He took my voice? I open my mouth to insult him, but not a sound comes out. Darkness consumes me, and the last thing I see is Gannons cruel smile. The last thing I hear is my 12-year-old friend, Neeko.

Neeko: NOOOOO!

End flashback

Gannon took my voice and sent me to another world. He was right. I've failed.

I've failed... for now. But I will be back. If Gannon thinks sending me to another world and taking my voice will stop me for a second, he's got another thing coming. I will not falter in getting back to Hyrule. If I can't talk to people who can get me back, I'll find another way. I may have lost the battle, but I will not fail my duty.

I walk East for a bit and I find a river. Water is good. Not just for my basic survival, but for others as well. Gannon said that there were people in this world. It'd make sense for them to settle near water. I decide to head downstream. Easier for water mills. Watch yourself Gannon.

I'll be back soon.
