A mind is much like a plant.

It really depends on what plant you're growing. A big, strong tree needs different care, versus a flower, or even grass.

Some minds are like weeds. They feed off of other plants, at the cost of the host. Some plants are roses; you may get into the brain of a rose, but then, the thorns are there.

But overall, plants generally need the same thing; care.

What if one never got that? What if a plant grew up without that care that a plant needs?

It's like a wild plant in a drought, or a forest fire; it won't survive for long.

And, God forbid, the plant is hurt. Plants, especially young ones, can be weak. Footprints on the soil, crushing the sapling, leaving its mark forever there, the mark of a broken spirit. Stumps a grave of what was lost. A flower withering in a little vase of water, being picked for its beauty, and cast out as its beauty fades away, like my broken, broken heart.
