"My car!!!" I screamed. I ran to my once beautiful Camaro, now nothing as it burned to bits, but Haven apprehended me.

"Let me go!" I screamed.

"No. We have to leave." Haven said calmly.

I struggled to get free as he pulled me away. I gave up when I could no longer see my fire engulfed vehicle.

While we were walking, I asked Haven, "What happened to my car?" he sighed and said, "We were driving down Elm Wood Drive after you fell asleep. Then we saw Damon." I tried not to cry when he said that. Damon is my little brother, and he tried to kill Alaska when she made him angry a few years ago.

"Tre got out to see if he wanted to join us, but he passed him and went straight into the car. When he saw us relaxing, he drove the car into a semi. I'm sorry, Nikki. I think," his voice lowered "I think he tried to kill you."

I fell to my knees the moment he said that. I couldn't believe what I had just heard. I started to cry, thinking of all the times I relied on Damon.

Not long after that, Tre said, "I think we're lost."

"Great. In the middle of God knows where. Just great." I said.

"Shut up, Nikki." Tre hissed.

"Wow. Now we'll all die." I mumbled under my breath.

"Now, we need to have a strategy. But first, we need to be prepared. Tre, find a suitable house. Alaska, locate food for us. Nikki... You just... stay here." Haven said.

Great. Now I don't even get to help.

"Why can't I help? I'm okay, see?" I said as I got up to grab a nearby wood stack, but instead gravity pulled me back down to the earth.

"I don't want you to get hurt," said Haven as he kissed my forehead.

"Stay here. I'll be right back. Okay?"

"Sure." I said as believable as I could.

I wasn't staying put while everyone worked. I am going to do something, even if it kills me.

Literally.

When the coast was clear, I slipped into the woods to collect a sizable pile of firewood. When I trekked further into the woods, I began to hear screams of terror. They're fake, Nikki. Keep going. I convinced myself. Suddenly, someone grabbed my arm.

"AAAAAA!" I screamed. There, in front of me, was one of the repugnant people I have ever seen.

"Nikki!" I heard Alaska scream in the distance.

"HELP!" I shouted as the person brought its head down to my arm, and sunk its teeth into my wrist.

"AAAAAAA!" I shrieked in pain. The last thing I remember is the creature falling to the ground, and then I blacked out.
