Shouta loved all of his children equally as they grew up. But as his wife began to show favorites towards Stewart his eldest child and only son and Marisol, his youngest daughter. Playing the game his wife played he began to favorite his first daughter Shyla, starting by having her be the only one allowed in his office when he worked.  

Which escalated to him taking her to meetings with people he knew and would have her talk and play with the children that were usually there. One meeting he went to was to make a treaty with a man by the name of Eiji Todoroki, he had Shyla with him and he saw that Eiji had brought one of his kids with him that time. Instantly Eiji didn't like Shyla mainly due to the fact that she had the same genetic problem as his son. He didn't want his son to think that it was okay to look like a complete freak. 

With their children aside a protection treaty was signed between the two families. For years they would always have each other's backs. For years Shyla would learn the ways of being a mafia boss due to him wanting her to take over his position as the mafia boss. He also made sure to do up his will, giving everything that was his and in his name all to Shyla. 

When Shouta's wife found out that nothing was going to be given to her, they began to argue on why it was all going to a mere child. Shouta didn't falter in his choice even with his wife shouting right in his face giving him the biggest head ache he ever had. After the argument he had it with her. So he managed to leave out for most of a month with Shyla, 

Throughout the time that they were gone Shyla was given lessons on how to protect herself with a gun as well as the 'do's and dont's' of being part of a mafia. One thing that he did manage to do before they went back home was introduce her to a few people who he had ties with that would be able to help her out later on. 

Shyla was able to make friends with some of the people whom she met up with, which made him rather happy to see. It wasn't until they were on their way back home that things got dicey, shyla placed a hand on his. "Papa...mommy isn't going to like we've been gone along time."

"Don't worry about it Shy, everything will be just fine." 

Shyla still looked at him concerned not believing his words.
