Three of the boys decided to do nothing and stay inside, Matt worrying over where his parents were, Edd feeling something was intently staring at him through the cracks in between his closet doors. Something very big, very slow, with very sharp eyes, and teeth that could cut through wood. It scared Edd. Tords head was pounding, as he held the side of his temple in pain, hissing. He then heard a loud, deafening sound as lightning struck so bright that it looked to be daytime. Tord felt dizzy from the loudness, and the shaking, and the sudden light and dark, so he started to cry. He only cried and rolled over, trying to block out noise and trying to calm down the pain from how hard his head was pounding.
Matt curled up on his bed, listening to music and trying to keep calm while waiting for his parents to hopefully come back inside of their home. He waited, one minute turned into two. Matt felt like time was passing so slowly. Tom gulped. He gripped his brown bear tightly and cried at the thunder and lightning, having been terrified of it since he could last remember, and flinched, hiding under his blanket the second the next lightning strike hit the ground. He trembled and cried as he hugged his brown bear tight.
Edd looked at his closet doors, only focusing on the doors and nothing else around him out of absolute, utter fear. Eventually, a black goop-like finger slipped from a crack, then a hand. It went further and grew as it slowly reached for the knob of his closet doors, unlocking them and twisting the knob, slowly pushing open the closet door. It was a black goop with large sets of teeth and many sets of eyes, which looked around the room quickly. Edd quickly hid until only his eyes were visible through a hole in his blanket that he had made long ago.
It soon disappeared, and Edd remembered his overactive imagination. He curled up on his bed and sobbed to himself, the closet door still being closed. Tord continued crying, but his head had calmed down and stopped pounding mostly, allowing him to calm down and stop crying after a few minutes. Matt was still waiting for his parents to come home, and they did eventually come back. Only one though. His mother was frantically looking for a med kit, having not been able to drag Matts burnt father back inside, grabbing her phone and calling the police.
Matt stayed silent and tried to pretend that he was asleep so if his mother looked at his doorway she wouldn't suspect anything. He curled up facing away from the door under his blanket at tried to sleep, knowing that it wasn't any of his business like usual. He just wanted tonight to be over. His senses were acted up, and it sucked and it was raining so much lately. Tord got up out of his bed, and went to his doorway, peeking out of his bedroom door. It was dark in the house. He took it as a sign and left his doorway, walking into the living room. It was dark, like everything else. He took a deep breath and only continued walking around the house, trying to ignore the loudness of thunder, lightning and light.
Tom continued to cry into his pillow underneath his blanket, trying to ignore the thunder and lightning. But no matter how hard he tried, the deafening sounds of lightning and thunder, as well as the sudden small shakes of the ground made it almost impossible. He got caught off guard every time. He covered his ear and whimpered, wishing his parents were in his room to comfort him, but they probably weren't even home at this time.
The storm lasted the whole night, and everyone in town heard every little thunder and lightning. Children were scared throughout the whole night, and parents were busy keeping them as calm and as safe as they could. Everyone in town that night was on edge. Some were listening to loud music with their blinds closed, dancing the night away. This included Tord. He wondered where his violin was. Maybe he could dance while playing it and practice, since nobody in the household would hear over the thunder. Tom held his brown bear tighter than before, holding it very close to himself to try and get comfort from it. Matt stayed silent in bed the whole night, trying to fall asleep while his mother was busy with other things, too scared to say anything. Edd stayed in his bed, staring at his normal closet once again, not willing to take his eyes off of it unless he saw something suspicious.
