tom was asleep when his mother came into the room to wake him up for the first day of kindergarten. She walked over to toms bed and shook him lightly to wake him up and get him to school, "come on thomas get up, its the first day of school." she said as tom looked up at his mother who smiled at him knowing he was awake and dragged him out of bed to the kitchen where he sat down and started eating.
"so mom. whats it like being in 'school'??" toms mother looked at him and said "its great but the older you get the meaner people will get in school. its a sad sight to see sometimes Thomas." toms mother sighed as she finished what she had said. tom looked at his mother with full attention and hugged her. not wanting to hear that sigh of sadness from her. "come on. lets get to school Thomas" tom nodded at his mother and grabbed the things he would need. they soon walked out of the house and into their car.
When they got to the school it was raining and as they got out of their car to get into school they noticed other children coming out of cars with parents so toms mother gave her son the bear dad gave him on his birthday one year. tom gripped on the bear tightly as they walked into the school to see more kids around toms age.
one of the children walked up to tom. he had dark brown hair and a green shirt over a black long sleeved one, as well as tan pants. tom gripped his bear even tighter as the dark haired boy opened his mouth to speak. "hi!" the boy waved at tom and tom waved back nervously, the boy spoke again "My names Edd!, whats your name?". tom opened his mouth to speak. "my names tom!". tom lightened his grip on the dark brown bear as he realized the boy called Edd was nice.
his mother tapped her sons shoulder as she realized the parents were going somewhere else "Thomas i''m going to go now, Ok?" she started walking away as she saw her son nod, leaving the two boys to speak to each other. "So tom, what do you wanna do?" edd said as tom turned his head to face him again. "hm, i don't know. you choose!" tom said. edd's face lit up as he said "Lets play tag!!"
(imma try doing the 'each time someone speaks there's a new paragraph' thing)
"but don't you need more than just two people for tag?" tom said.
"Yea. but who are we gonna play with?" edd said as he searched the room for kids to play with.
"i don't know" tom said as he joined in the search for at least one other kid to play with.
"maybe him!" edd said as he grabbed toms hand, basically dragging him to another kid who had ginger hair, with a very light pink hoodie that could be mistaken for white any day, along with light purple pants.
"hi!" edd said as he tapped the gingers shoulder, catching his attention. the ginger turned around to see the pair.
"hi!" the ginger said happily.
"my names edd, and this is tom. whats your name?" edd said
"my names matt!" the ginger said
"hi matt, wanna play tag with us?" tom said
"Sure!" matt said
"Yay!" they all said in unison

~the end of the day~
tom, edd, and matt hugged each other since they had to go home, they all waved goodbye to each other and walked to their cars. it was still raining outside and they were getting wet so they all got in their cars and started driving.
hearing the tears of the sky fall on their windshields. all three boys stared out their windows,
looking forward to tomorrow
