Christmas Eve and where was Maya sitting?
At the Matthews just like always.
She sigh as she sits playing with August Matthews and Ava Morgenstern.
As always they were there and it wasn't just for awhile.
Ava was staying the night as well as some other people who Cory didn't want to tell Maya about.
Riley is on her phone currently looking at something when the front door opens.

"Hey, Kiddies!"

Maya smiles as she sees the right boy at the right time.

"Boing," Maya said and Josh smiled.
"Nickname still there but at least she is calm. Hi Uncle Josh," Riley said.
"I actually brought a guest," Josh said and a man in his late thirties came in.
"Hello Matthews," Shawn said and as soon as he came through Cory went to greet his best friend.

"Shawn, welcome to yet another Christmas. My brotha," Cory said.
"My brotha. Why are here so many people? Thought it was only going to be family," Josh said and Maya sighs.

She stands up grabbing her jacket walking towards the door.
Unfortunately for her Josh stopped her before she could get far.

"Relax Gorgeous. Why the short temper?" Josh asked and Maya looked at him.
"What did you just call her?" Shawn asked.

Maya quickly got past Josh and made her way outside.
She didn't have any idea where she was going but knew she had to get out of that place.
Josh sighed as he went after her not giving her enough time to disappear without a sight.
He saw she was making her way to the roof and quickly made sure he kept up to her.
Fast enough he exactly saw were the fourteen year old was and smiled.
She was sitting at the top and the edge of the roof.
Josh was almost scared at how close she was but didn't say much.

"You know it's dangerous sitting so close to the edge," Josh said as he sat down next to Maya realizing that tears are streaming down her cheeks.
"Maya? Hey what's wrong?" Josh asked and turned to face Maya.
"Hey, I'm sorry okay. I didn't mean to be rude," Josh said and Maya smiled.
"I'm... It's okay. You didn't so anything wrong. It's just this time of year," Maya said.
"How come? It's Christmas. It's supposed to be a good time of year. Family time and... Oh," Josh said realizing why Maya said it.
"I'm sorry that your family isn't more... Here. I know it must get you down being so close to mine the entire season. Must get you down a lot and it can't be easy. I don't know what you're going through and I'll probably never know," Josh said and Maya smiled as she faced Josh.
"Though you're the only person who came after me. I wonder why," Maya said and suddenly she was just as flirtatious as she was a year ago.
"And there she is. I wondered when the real Maya would surface. You know, the one I met a year ago," Josh said.
"You know things don't have to be the way they are now," Maya said and Josh sighed knowing she would want to pull something like that.
"Why don't we head in?" Josh asked as he stood up and helped Maya up.
"Then we can talk about that idea of yours later."
