So I was looking around and I saw a few people, do a: ww2 solider x RWBY and at first I thought that was pretty stupid but then I got a cool idea,so I've decided to do one, but this time I'm writing a time line so stay with me and pay attention.
Note that your army are not the nazis, they are Germans. The army is called the iron-blood legion. (Also you need to know the lone of RWBY to understand my timeline)
About 100,000 years ago, When the gods killed all life on this world, the humans that survived made civilizations guarded by knights known as the ironblood Soldaten (iron blood knights/soldiers) under the command of a man named jack.
When Salem unleashed her wrath, the knights tried to stop her, with massive numbers of them losing their lives. When the knights retreated to what remained of civilization they were cast out for failing to defeat Salem. This was done by a group who called themselves: the atlas. This lead what remained of the knights claiming an island for themselves and isolating themselves from the outside world,
Although a few years later a new power in the world now named Atlas tried to annex them, only to be massacred by the naval might of the iron blood legion, this lead to an, ongoing war, between the ironblood and atlas, the two sides are evenly matched, with ironblood having a much more powerful navy(with about 1000 capital ships and growing, note that all the ironblood's war machines are made and maintained by Richthofen industries, a large company)and Atlas having a much more powerful Airforce
As of the present day, many people know about the iron-blood, but nobody pays them much mind, the fighting between atlas and the Ironblood has mostly stoped although the two hold a grudge against each other, they are still lead by Jack (who seems to be ageless like Ozpin and Salem).
The island they live in is a kingdom now named Deutschland, it has been heavily fortified with artillery guns and large tanks lining the coasts, it is a purely military kingdom (manning all of its population are in the Military)
Their military is much more industrialized than atlas, using gas/steam powered machines as opposed to atlas's electronic-based machines. This leads blake to hate them due to them destroying the environment.
The ironblood are finally lifting their isolation, sending transfer students to Beacon Academy as a show of peace between nations(although behind the scenes Jack and Ozpin know each other and did it to get Y/n (who has silver eyes) to beacon)

Although almost every soldier Is different, due to the ironblood leadership allowing much more freedom than its atlas counterparts. So soldiers routinely put personal modifications on their armour
Although there are many different classes the only one you need to know right now are:the sentries
Mentality: Most ironblood people are peaceful, they are also patriotic, almost all of them have a personal ironblood flag that they wear is some way, most soldiers (including you) wear their flags tied around their waists, much like their armour, ironblood soldiers like to personalize their flags as well, some sew messages into their flags such as: "don't forget" or other things that have meaning to them, then there are others who modify the material, the colors and more.
