THE WAFFEN SS AND THEIR REPUTATION IN THE IRONBLOOD KINGDOM.

SS OR IDLE SS

This is know as the noble program. The idle ss are basically the rich kids who bought their way up the chain of command, the idle ss also is know to have one of the highest female representation of all the army's, they are know for being moderate if not bad at commanding (due to them being rich kids) they are also treated better then the main ironblood force know as the Wehrmacht. Their clean clothes, shaved faces, and smiles often piss off the frontline troops that are living off moldy bread and trench water, This has lead them to be hated to the point where if they show their face out of their command tent it will often lead to confrontation and if it doesn't they will often be bombarded by needling comments and insults, well deserved.

When they first applied for the military Y/n and Manfred were offered a spot on the idle ss, but they. (Smartly) refused under the logic that that would basically be painting a target on their back.

WAFFEN SS

The Waffen ss is the opposite of the Idle SS because they are the special forces, and are almost all volunteers of poor people (with the exception of some divisions) instead of being privileged they are the special forces meaning they are in the same, if not worse conditions the Ironblood forces.

But often instead of complaining they stay silent.

They live by a different code then the Ironblood army, and their code is very complicated. But you should know the first rule:

"A man of the SS never surrenders"

It's not like it matters anyway, they are know for being crazy fanatics (note that levels of fanaticism vary with divisions but the ones with pure German blood are amount the most crazy) they will never retreat, they will never faulter.

Something the Russians learnt the had way was that the more you beat them down; the more ferocious they become (think an army of yangs)

Some are even so fanatic that they believe that the devil walks with them (heard in their songs)

But even when they are beaten, they have a cyanide capsule fixed to one of their teeth, death is a preferable alternative to defeat.

They are hated within the Ironblood body due to their fanaticism, due to their crazy fanaticism they will do anything to acomplish their misson. Kill innocents, torture, gas warfare, etc

Although not all Waffen ss Are willing: take the Estonians for example:

Long ago when the SS was first formed, and the Blitzkrieg was in full swing. The ironblood empire trapped a small country in its boarders. Knowing full well what the ss does to territory's it conquers. The Estonian government tried to save its country.

But how? It was so small and insignificant that it had nothing to offer!

And so a young farmer by the name of Edmonton Holst and his lifelong friend Jacob Meyer went to Reichsführer-SS hinrich Himmeler with a group of 10 men and said "I will give you my life in exchange for my people" but himmler had a better idea.

He said. "I will let your country live, but you and the men of your county will swear an oath" he says looking down upon the humble farmer.

"Your County will give it's men to the SS. As of this day all men will be in two SS divisions. You will follow every order with unprecedented certainty, surrender or retreat and your county will suffer the consequences. Refuse, and I will give the 36th free reign over Estonia, your land will be burnt, your children and women will be killed and so on, but you can prevent this"

"For how long?"he asks his mind already made up.

"Till the end of time" himmler replies,

"You will never see your family the only time you will be let to is to breed more males. And they will grow up brothers in the army. You will still forfeit your life, but your people will be safe"

Despite the grim nature of it all, not one boy refused to go. They all knew what they had to do and if giving their life meant that their women and children were safe, they would give anything.

For one thousand nine hundred (and onward) years the Holst family has commanded the Estonian SS,
