Melanie just stared at the comment.
"Come on babes, you're gonna have to talk to him eventually." Makiya said to the girl sitting across from her on the couch.
"How did you know I was thinking about him?"
"Just a hunch, I guess. But seriously you have to at least hear what he has to say. He's been texting the GroupChat for the past two days freaking out about everything. And you know he didn't do anything wrong. It was my dumbass of a boyfriend." Makiya rolled her eyes at the thought of the audacity that Edwin possessed . She cursed him out on the phone that night everything went down and hopefully knocked some sense into that peanut head of his.
"I know, but at the same time, it is his fault." Melanie crosses her arms over her chest and slumped down into the soft cushions.
"What do you mean? He didn't do anything."
"He did do something though. He's the reason his friends know me in the first place."
"Mel, now you know damn well it takes two to tango. His friends knew all about you the first time y'all slept together." Makiya gave the girl a look. She knew she found it easier to blame her problems on others, but this time it was no one's fault but her's.
"Well he dm'd me first."
"And you replied."
"He came up to me at the club."
"Because you were purposely trying to make him notice you." Makiya could tell Mel was getting frustrated not being able to find an out in the situation.
Well... well he made me have feelings for him!" Mel scoffed not even realizing what she had just blurted out.
"Melanie Nicole Brookes! You did not just say that. You have feelings for Zion?"
Melanie was silent for a while, just trying to process everything before she finally spoke, "I think so."
"Awww Mel." Kiya went and hugged up on the baby.
"Stop this shit is weird. I haven't felt this way in a long time and I don't like it." Melanie dropped her head into her hands.
"Well are you gonna tell him?"
Melanie just laughed. "Fuck no baby." She sang while furiously shaking her head.
"Mel don't do that. You know what happens when you keep your feelings bottled up like that."
"So? Look I'm not about to go back on my ideology. All that I've said to that nigga was don't catch feelings. Now if I catch feelings I'm gone look like Booboo the Fool. I'm not gone do that for a little crush that I know is gonna go away."
"But what if it doesn't, Mel? What then?"
Melanie shrugged her shoulders. "I guess I'll just ghost him until I get over it."
Makiya crossed her arms. She was upset that Melanie would not just accept her feelings, but she also felt sorry for her that she felt she needed to be so closed off.
"Ok Mel, obviously you're not going to listen to what I have to say because you think you have all the answers, but I think you should talk to someone. Because what you're doing isn't healthy." After that Makiya just left.
Melanie was mad, but at the same time she couldn't blame Kiya for not understanding why she didn't want to get with Zion. Kiya knew that Trey cheated on Mel but that was all she knew.
Then again, Makiya was right. She should talk to someone. So she picked up her phone and got to typing.
