Melanie put on a cute red sundress and tied her hair back into a slick pony tail. She was just about ready to go when she got a call from Makiya.
"Hey Bestfrand." Melanie smiled.
"Hey Mel. You look good bitch."
"Thanks, sis. I'm going to dinner with Zion's family." Mel rubbed the back of her neck to soothe herself a bit. She was still nervous about being around his family even though she had met them yesterday, but a restaurant was just so formal. She couldn't just excuse herself from a dinner if she got uncomfortable.
"Wow you making big girl moves. Y'all relationship getting pretty serious, huh?" Makiya smiled proud of her friend. She was shipping Mel and Z so hard.
"Yeah. It's going pretty fast, but I can get used to it. But not seeing his family all the time. Matbe Kekeli, but that's about it." Melanie chuckled.
"Don't worry girl, you've got this. Have fun with your dinner. And we definitely need to talk about everything during a girls' night when I get back." Makiya suggested.
"Of course. I'll text you tomorrow Kiy."
"Bye Bitch, good luck with the dinner." Makiya smirked then her face disappeared from her screen.
Melanie added the finishing touches on her makeup when Zion texted her saying that he was outside. Mel found it a little strange that he didn't just come up and knock on her door, but maybe he was just running late.
Melanie made her way downstairs to the parking lot where she saw Zion's car. She climbed into the passenger side and gave Zion a kiss on his cheek over the console.
"Hey Zion."
"Hi Mel. Ready?" Zion sighed.
"Yeah." Mel chuckled awkwardly. Zion pulled out of her complex and turned up his music. Mel was feeling a little unsettled though. She felt like Zion was off and wasn't talking to her.
Melanie turned down the music and put her hand on top of Zion's. "Are you okay, Zion? Like seriously talk to me."
"Haven't you ever heard not to touch a black man's radio." Zion tried to joke, but it came out sounding monotonous.
"Zion be serious. What's going on with you? D-did I do something wrong?"
"Nah. Don't worry about it. I'm fine." Zion stated and turned his music back up. Mel sat back in her seat and huffed out. He was in a mood apparently. Hopefully he would calm down when they got to the restaurant.
"It's nice to see you again Melanie." Mandy hugs the girl.
"Where's Dad?" Zion questioned.
"He had to take an early flight. He's on his way to China again." Mandy sighed. Zion just nodded. "But come, let's sit." Mandy led the couple to their table.
"Hi Melanie." Kekeli smiled at the girl and Mel greeted her and Elom wit quick hugs before sitting down.
"So do you guys know what you're gonna order?" Mandy looked at her menu.
