Y'ALL. I hope you like this chapter because: A) it's one of the longest ones (maybe even the longest so far), B) there may or may not be some mature content towards the end regarding Rachel and Cameron (FREAKING FINALLY, AMIRIGHT?), and C) it's what this entire book has been leading up to; some shit is about to be revealed.

Quick shoutout to @queenlome and @cinnamonsugar08; thank you for all the votes!

My heart flutters at hearing the doorbell. I automatically freeze, standing in place. I can't move. My heart is pounding in my chest and I feel myself become flustered. I hear the front door opening. One of my friends must have let the boys in. I slowly turn around to look at the group of boys slowly trickling into my doorway. When I lock eyes onto Cameron's tall frame, my mouth instantly becomes dry.

He's dressed in a black suit with a deep blue tie to match my dress. His brown hair isn't styled, rather, he left it in the floppy mess that he normally does. His cerulean blue eyes are stunning, and let's not mention the dimple on the side of his face.

I watch as Cameron's eyes flitter around the room, attempting to locate me. The smile he previously had was now slowly drifting into a frown. I decide to take pity on the poor man and I walk up to him slowly. When I come into his line of vision, I instantly notice a change in his demeanor. He's no longer frowning, this time, he has a mega-watt smile and his eyes are sparkling. I notice his eyes lazily drag up and down my body, taking me in. Eventually, his eyes make their way back up to meet my gaze.

"You look beautiful," he murmurs, extending out a hand to pull me closer to him. He pulls my body against his, my chest rubbing against his. "I'll have to keep you close to me all night, don't want any guy stealing you from me," he adds jokingly.

This causes me to giggle and push his chest to create some distance between us. "Who says I don't want that? Maybe I want some sexy man to come sweep me off my feet and away from you," I retort back, a little bit of sass coming through.

Of course, I'm just joking. I didn't want to be with another man, I want to be with Cameron. I have wanted Cameron for a while now, but he didn't know that. He was too busy sucking face with Sydney to notice.

Cameron fails to see I was joking and he emits a low growl. "No," he grunts angrily, folding his arms over his chest. "All those high school boys are just horny pigs; they'll try and pull something. I've heard horror stories about people spiking the punch at these dances and then taking advantage of girls. I don't want that happening to you; with me, you'll at least be safe."

I feel my heart flutter at hearing him say he cares about my safety.

What he doesn't know is that I'm not safe with him – at least, not my heart. He had stolen my heart long ago, and I don't think I'd ever get it back.

I gently pull his arms apart. "Hey, Cameron, I was just kidding. Of course I don't want some random guy hitting on me. I said yes to going to prom with you, and I stick by my promises. I'll be with you all night. You don't need to worry."

Cameron seems to calm down at hearing this and he opens his mouth to reply but he's interrupted.

"Okay lovebirds, let's go. The Limo is here!" I hear Makayla shout.

I grumble, wanting to tell her that we're not lovebirds, but there's no use. She had already walked off.

When we arrive to our high school's gym, I immediately want to go home. I watch as all my friends drag their dates to the dance floor, leaving Cameron and I to stand in the sidelines. I feel Cameron lean over to talk to me. "Do you want to dance?" he asks, raising his voice so I could hear him over the loud music that was playing.
