I wake up to the sound of my alarm and bacon sizzling on the stove, mostly my alarm though.

I take off my sleeping mask and put it on my nightstand. I love the smell of bacon in the morning. I sat up and put on my glasses so I could actually see. I got out of my bed and walked into the kitchen, practically floating.

"Hey Kinsey, where's Robert?"

I just noticed he was gone. When did he leave? Where did he go?

"Probably got up early to go get coffee. May I have some bacon?"

"Of course, help yourself."

I took one and took a bite. Yes. Memories I had with bacon. My phone dinged and I had to stop eating that delicious piece of meat to see the text messages.

Jason:
Wanna meet up at the cafe today?

Diana:
Na. We always do that.

Jason:
But I need my CAFFEINE!

Robert:
Listen, how about we meet up at the oak. I'm already at the cafe, I'll just bring out drinks. Sound good?

I knew he was at the cafe.

Jason:
Yes sir!

Diana:
Fine.

Robert:
Rebecca? You coming?

No answer, as usual. Sometimes I don't even think that girl has a phone.

Robert:
I'll take that as a yes. Kins?

Me:
Of course! I'll leave right now.

I put my phone in my pocket and kissed my dad on the cheek. I grabbed a whole bunch of bacon for the road. I grabbed my backpack and went out, walking to the big tree we grew up at together.
