When I got at the tree, Jason, Rebecca, and a guy I didn't recognize were sitting on the tree roots scrolling on their phones.
I stood over Rebecca and she nodded-as to say hello-and went back to scrolling. The gut sitting to her left rolled his eyes and stood. "Hi! I'm Alberto! I'm Rebecca's friend!"
Rebecca suddenly decided to speak, but not to me. "Quit the act Alberto. Tell her who she is." I was startled, especially since she said tell her who she is. I don't know him, how would he know me?
"Ugh, fine." He studied my face and I felt uncomfortable so I slightly stepped back. "You have a good life. Depending on your clothing, your mother died when you were young. Your dad does everything he can for you. Your friend that lives with you... you have a crush on him?"
How did he know that? I flushed with embarrassment and covered my face with my shirt. He smirked. Who is this guy?
I sat in Alberto's spot next to Rebecca and leaned on her shoulder to see what she was doing.
Alberto sat next to Jason and they both started chatting up a storm.
