I drew my axe and waited for the ol' rottin' stinkin' filthy creatures to lumber forward. Once they got closer, I yelled savagely and rushed towards them. My axe became a whirlwind of death, slicing through the Frighters. I hissed when I felt the sharp stab of pain accompanied by the sight of a Frighter sinking its claws into my calf. Rage filled me as I swung my axe and brought it down onto the Frighter, cleaving it in half, spilling its dark blood onto the bright snow.
Eyeing the final Frighter, I yelled a challenging "BRING IT ON!!!" The monster turned its nasty head and locked its empty eyes onto mine. It growled and lunged at me with inhuman speed. Once it reached me, it leaped towards me, unsheathing its gore-covered claws. At the last moment, I dived out of the way, its claws narrowly missing my chest. I rolled over and jumped to my feet, glaring at the disgusting creature crouched before me. It was momentarily disoriented from missing me, and in the few seconds it took to get back to its feet, I drew my arm back and threw the axe at it. It spun through the air before sinking into the Frighter with a sickening squelch. The noise is one I had heard many times before--too many to count--, but one that still made me gag each and every time.
"Training session completed," I heard the computer say. I collapsed to the floor, exhausted, having the foresight to take off my headset before doing so.
"Graceful," a voice from my right said, snickering.
"Shut up, Nicky!" I whined, realizing who it was. She walked over and crouched next to me, smirking.
