I look at my phone again and see Jonah has replied to my text. I open it and it reads:
'Oh okay. I understand. Where are you going?'
'We're going to the beach!' I reply back, shutting my phone off and reaching for Daniel's free hand. Our fingers intertwined. We came to a stop in front of my house.
'Alrighty, Don't take too long.' He said winking at me as I walked in through the front door to my house.
'Y/N?!' I hear my Dad call from the lounge.
'Hi, Dad.' I say.
'Where have you been?! Gone for almost 2 days and no sign of you!' He asks, clearly concerned.
'It's okay, Dad.' I reassured him. 'I was just staying at Daniel's house for the night.' He nods.
'Alright. Anyway, are you going anywhere today?' He asks.
'Yeah, Daniel and I are going to the beach!' I say excitedly.
'Oh, okay. Have fun!' He says, hugging me, then plopping back down into his usual position on the couch. I jog upstairs and into my room. I rummage through my wardrobe to find a bathing suit. I find a cute white two-piece that had small ruffles on the bottom. I gather up all of the other items I needed and headed out of the door. I see Daniel leaning against his car. I smile happily and skip to the boot and shove my stuff into the remaining bag. And then I jump into the car and we are off.
After an hour drive, we finally reach the beach. It was so beautiful. The sand a wonderful golden colour and the water a vibrant blue. I step out of the car and to the boot. We gather our stuff and head to the public bathrooms to get changed into our swimmers.
After I put my two-piece on, I stare at myself in the mirror. All these thoughts rushing through my head.
'I look horrible in this!' 'Daniel will think I'm ugly!' and 'What if everyone laughs at me?'
I sit on the bathroom floor and curl up into a ball. I start crying. The tears streaming down my face. I thought I was going to be a public laughing stock. I tried to control myself but I just couldn't. I thought I looked horrible.
After a few minutes, Daniel came rushing through the door.
'Y/N?!' He asks, very concerned. 'Are you okay? What's wrong?' I look up at him, tears still streaming down my face.
'I-I look H-Horrible!' I manage to say, my voice breaking. Daniel sat on the ground next to me and wrapped his arms around me tightly.
'No you don't! You look amazing.' He exclaimed, wiping the tears from my cheek. We stood up and walked to the beach, my hand in his.
As I entered the cool water, Daniel splashed water on me. I squealed as the cold water hit my back.
'I'm gonna get you back Daniel!' I threatened. He laughed. I approached him and splashed a heap of water into his face. He shook his hair and looked at me playfully.
'Oh, you are in for it now!' He chuckled, chasing me and trying to splash me. He finally caught me and wrapped his arms around me and dunked me under the water. As I reached the surface again I glared at him. We both laughed as we left the water and walked onto the sand. I jumped onto his back and we went for a walk around the beach.
'How was your 'school free day'?' He asked me, putting me back down onto the ground and holding my hand.
'It was amazing! I loved it.' I said, once again looking into those familiar, brilliant blue eyes.
'I'm glad!' He said enthusiastically. He smiled that amazing smile. But all of a sudden I hear footsteps behind us. I turn and see Corbyn.
'Oh, hey Corbyn. What are you doing here?' I asked. He glanced over at Daniel. He looked worried. 'Are you okay?'
'Y-yeah, I just need to talk to Daniel he says. Daniel looked at him and nodded.
'I'll be right back, okay?' Daniel said as he kissed my forehead.
'Okay.' I said. I didn't wait long until Daniel came rushing back.
'We need to go Y/N.' He said. Now Daniel looked very worried.
