Thirty-One

The minute I said her name a wicked smile grew on her face as she looked at me. "Long time no see sis. How are you? I'm fine." She said quickly. I just looked at her as I shook my head. "Taylor why are you doing this?" I asked.

She smiles "to get you back to normal. Zendaya has this cure that can fix you and change you back to a full witch." She says. "Isn't that what you want?" I immediately shook my head. "No! I want this," I sighed. "No it's not by choice but I have come to terms with my new status and I'm happy with it. So no I don't want to change back." I told her honestly.

Taylor, along with Zendaya, frowned as they looked me. "Lauren you know you can't be apart of this family if you're a hybrid." Taylor tells me. "It's either chance back or be banished from the family. Your choice."

I was laying in bed with Lauren watching some lame movie that was on but if I'm being honest I wasn't paying attention. I was distracted by the fact that Lauren is absolutely freezing right now and that's extremely weird because she is never cold. She's always so warm so I'm starting to worry about her.

"Dinah do you think I could be your beta?" She asked softly.

I sighed as I looked at her. "Lo, Mani's my beta." I told her. "So? Can't you just changed it?" She asked. I shook my head. "Nope. I'm not even alpha yet so I really can't change anything until I become alpha." I explained. Lauren's face fell as a hard glare made it's way on her face. "I'm your soulmate Dinah I should automatically be your beta!" She screams. "Not that freak of a fucking hybrid!"

I was completely taken aback by what she just said and I just shook my head at her odd behavior. "What's gotten into you? Why are you so worried about being my beta?" I asked her. She glared at me. "I'm worried because I know that bitch is going try and steal you from me!" She screamed.

"Steal me from you?" I questioned.

Lauren nodded "yes! First it was Camila that hoe and now it's Normani! Honestly Dinah I think you need to cut all ties with every single one of them." She demanded.

I quickly shook my head as I stood up. "Ok Lauren you are way out of line right now! I am not going to drop all my friends just because you're paranoid and think they're after me, they're not!" I told her. Lauren scuffed "really? Because I heard that you and Camila were on the roof all night!" She screams. "Did you fuck her!?"

I shook my head. "Of course not! Lauren she is my best friend! What is wrong with you!?" I honestly have no idea what has gotten into her because Lauren was never this paranoid about my friendships with any of the girls so I'm really not sure where this is even coming from right now. "Where is all of this coming from?" I asked softly.

The raven haired girl rolled her eyes as she scuffed at me. "This is coming from the fact that you would rather hang out with them than me! I'm your soulmate not them Dinah!" Lauren screams. "Yeah you are but you can't dictate who I can and can't hang out with." I told her. Her eyes turned bright red as she glares at me. "If I catch you hanging out with them we're done Dinah."

I was sitting in the dark trying to think of ways to get out of here so I can be back with Dinah and tell here everything that Zendaya has done to me. It's only been a day but I'm starving and Zendaya won't let me feed. She said that if I want to feed I have to agree to change back but I don't want that. So right now I'm really not sure what I'm going to do.

"Well Dinah's mad at you right now and guess who was there to cheer her up?" Zendaya asked smugly. "Me!"

A small frown formed on my face as I looked up at her. "Sooner or later Dinah's going to realize that I'm not me." I told her. "How are you going to explain that?" Zendaya laughed as she sat in front of me. "I won't have to explain anything because with the way you're acting Dinah won't believe a word you say." She tells me.

"I just don't get why you can't find another soulmate. I'm sure someone likes you." I told her.

A hard smack to my face swung my head harshly to the left. "I don't want another soulmate! I want Dinah and I know deep down she wants me and I'm going to prove that to her! I'm going to show her that besides being an average looking girl that you are absolutely no good for her and that everything she wants in a partner is me." She screams. "I'm the best choice for her and she will soon realize that!"

Things have been tense with Lauren and I since our extremely heated argument and I'm really not sure how to feel right now. I love her but I'm not sure if she's as right for me as I had previously had thought. I'm really not sure what I should do right now.

"DJ are you ok?" Camila asked me.

I shook my head as I frowned at her question. "No Lauren and I got into a huge fight last night and I'm starting to rethink a lot of things right now." I told her honestly. "What do you mean?" She asked. I huffed "I mean Lauren isn't acting like herself. She's been more demanding, rude and just down right mean recently. And on top of that she gave me an ultimatum; either stop talking to you and the girls or she'll leave me." I told her. "What do I do?"

Camila shrugged "honestly I think you should follow your heart on this one. I know you love her but she's acting very rude and controlling and you don't need that DJ. You need someone who will love you and treat you with respect, and honestly I'm not so sure that's Lauren anymore." She said honestly.

I knew she was right. I knew that Lauren wasn't acting like someone who would treat me right but I'm not sure I can leave her. I have wanted her for so long and I'm so close to having her that I'm not sure I can just give up, but she's not acting like the Lauren I know. She's acting like someone completely different and I'm not sure how to handle that. I love her but I think I should end things. I don't want to but it's for the best.
