LOOKING FOR RECRUITS

In the morning, Dalia is at the breakfast table with a bowl of yogurt in front of her. She's cut up some strawberries and added some raspberries into her bowl by herself, despite the many Avoxes that stand around waiting for her orders. Eldridge has left her simple clothes for training, which she greatly appreciates. Why overcompensate with the clothes when she can wow her opponents with her pure skill?

She's got short spandex paired with a long-sleeved compression shirt, both black and slimming while her hair is pulled back into an elegant ponytail. When Aegis comes in, he's dressed differently with tight leggings and a loose muscle shirt. In her opinion, it looks like another training day at the academy.

He greets her with a nod, filling up his plate with sausage and eggs before sliding into the seat next to her. They eat in silence until their mentors walk in, both looking disgruntled and a little messed up. Pollux's hair is sticking up all over the place, his tan skin uneven as he sits with a cup of black liquid and a plate of cereal – not a bowl, a plate. Olympia's eyes are puffy, lips tinted green as she sits across from Dalia. Her pink hair is frazzled, not put-together as it was last night.

Though, as they're just the mentors, Dalia doubts they care much about their appearance at the moment.

"Good morning," Dalia greets them with a cheeky smile, taking a spoonful of yogurt into her mouth.

She's not in a good mood, far from it with nervousness and dread running through her system, but the opportunity to poke fun at her mentors presents itself nicely. It reminds her of how she'd make fun of Eros in the mornings. The way her mentors grumble greetings to her makes her laugh softly, sharing a look with Aegis.

"What's the plan for today?" Olympia mumbles.

"Talk to the girls, observe the others, show off a little bit."

"Sounds good, have a good day," she says, standing up from her seat and leaving.

Dalia shares another look with Aegis before looking at their other mentor, who's head is now on the table with his arms on his side. She looks at one of the Avoxes, who she's technically forbidden to talk to, but she still tilts her head toward Pollux briefly before making a face.

She remembers her first time in the Capitol at ten years old. Her parents had gotten tickets to some exclusive play that ended up being silent and horrible, but she remembers trying to make friends with the Avox in one of the restrooms. She had gotten a long talk that night, a long lecture that she's not to talk to the tongueless servants unless she's to give them an order. They're traitors to their nation, tongueless as their penance for their crimes.

"Training starts at ten," Pollux mumbles incoherently.

"When?"

"Ten."
