"Don't tell me what?" Wonwoo asked again as he removed his shoes and sat beside Somi. "Nothing." Sakura quickly replied as she stood up with the cup in her hand and walked away, this time to the backyard.
Wonwoo groaned, again and again, placing his face in his hands. He eyed Somi, who was innocently drinking her tea.
"I'm guessing you're not gonna tell me either." He asked.
"Nope."
"I thought you were suppose to be on my side." Wonwoo addressed, already annoyed from the situation.
"A secret is a secret, oppa. Now if you'll excuse me I need to take a shower, it's getting late." Somi walked away, letting Wonwoo lay back in the couch. That gut feeling he was experiencing earlier seemed to have failed him as he staired a door.
"Why couldn't you guys be here to help me again?" He sighed before going into the said room.
A few hours later*
Sakura was still sitting in the flowerbed, scanning over each beautiful blossom with innocent eyes. And even though it was dark, the buds alone illuminated her whole field of view. For the first time in long while, she felt at ease. Finally able to give a genuine smile at the pretty scenery.
Eventually she did go back inside the house, since it was cold out. However as she entered the kitchen, she noticed that Somi was nowhere to be seen. She later found her note on the refrigerator.
" Going out with friends, if Sakura is reading this make sure Wonwoo-oppa knows~ "
- Somi
' I guess Wonwoo's still home... '
Sakura thought as she walked to what she assumed was his room, but when she opened it no one was in the area. The dull looking room didn't help motivate her search.
' Sigh... where could he be? -wait, why am I even...? No, nevermind. '
Sakura checked room after room, no Wonwoo. The girl became stressed, what if he left too? She thought. No, if he left he would've told her... maybe. By now there was only one room left, and Sakura wasn't feeling too confident with her chances at finding her housemate.
Slowly, she peeked inside. Greeted with the smell of scented candles and soft snoring, she poked her eyes inside even more to find Wonwoo unconscious in front of an altar. She walked up to him and shook his body.
"Hey. Wake up." She told, but Wonwoo still slept.
Sakura grunted, "I don't even know why I'm trying to inform you about this."
. . .
"Mom... dad..."
"Huh?" Sakura turned to him again, after his small whimper. "What did you say?" She asked, but didn't need a response to know his answer. Sakura peared over his shoulder and saw a photo of two adults alongside a younger Wonwoo and baby Somi, together the whole family were all taking a photo in front of a breathtakingly beautiful body of water with pink petals falling against them.
Sakura's eyes widened.
"Why'd you have to leave...?"
***
"Hhmm?" Wonwoo squinted his eyes, however he was no longer in his parent's room. Now he was in his room. Normally he wouldn't be surprised, thinking Somi just moved him. But on his desk was a small group of pink flowers in a clear vase, Somi wouldn't do that.
He exited his room and found Sakura in rummaging through the fridge, he ignored her presence and quietly sat on the couch.
"I see you're awake." Sakura suddenly spoke. Catching Wonwoo off guard.
"Yeah. I guess." He didn't know how to respond again, he wasn't really prepared for her greeting.
And I guess Sakura wasn't really prepped either, because soon she sat across from him. In complete silence.
"Are you feeling okay?" Wonwoo asked. Making Sakura raise a brow.
"What do you mean?"
"You're talking to me first, and not scurrying away." Wonwoo noted.
...
"Do you not want me to talk to you?" Sakura asked. "Because if you don't I can just ignore you again."
"That's not what I meant–
Sakura immediately stood up, panicky and her heart racing. But from the situation or a sudden burst of adrenaline?
"I can't do it, not right now." Sakura back away gently, causing Wonwoo to stand up slowly.
"Sakura, I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."
"You remind me so much of him, why?" Sakura spoke again, confusion spreading through the poor soul's face. "Why do you make me remember him, when I'm trying so hard to forget? Are trying to hurt me, Jeon Wonwoo?" Wonwoo kept his sturn face, he didn't know the context of her words. But they placed a burden on his shoulders.
"No. I just want to help."
Sakura dropped her tensed shoulders, feeling a small tension but a little relaxed.
"Do you really want to help me?"
He nodded.
"Then can you take me to your favorite hangout place?" Wonwoo, off guard for another time, questioned her offer.
"Where do you want to go?"
...
"...can you take me to Han River?"
