Chapter 3

The walk to the grocery store did not take a long time as it was just a few blocks away from Carter's house.

On my way there, I did a lot of thinking. Things went through my mind on how close I was with kissing Carter. Did Carter really wanted to kiss me? I am gonna go crazy with all this thinking. No objections . 100 percent . I would even pass the entrance test for the admission into a mental institution.

Then "it" hit me. Something, particularly someone caused me to land on my butt painfully. I groaned loudly to myself. I knew that it was partially my fault for daydreaming while walking but I'm not gonna admit that out loud.

I looked up to see who was the one who violently bumped into me. It was Nathan, my boyfriend. Wait, my boyfriend. I have a boyfriend! Oh my gosh. Now i feel so bad.

"Hey babe. So you've been here all along? I've been trying to call you the whole day." Nathan claimed.

What? He called me? Now i feel really really bad.

"I've been babysitting."

"Really? But since you're here now, I suppose you're free to go out with me." He suggested.

"I can't. Really. I have to get back."

"No, I don't care. I haven't been seeing you since last week and i need sometime with you. Now, let's go watch a movie shall we?" I nodded.

Nathan is my boyfriend by name, but he doesn't act it by heart. To cut it short, he doesn't seem like a good one.

I came home exhausted. My back was aching and my legs were sore.

Nathan was a jerk for all this. Why did i even accepted him to be mine? I have to end this. But how? I'm sure he would end up being those abusive boyfriends.

Should i tell Chloe? Nah, she'll freak out. What about cousin Alex? She'll tell everyone. Think Nicolette think. What about.... Carter? Carter. Carter. Oh no. I left him alone the whole day.

I picked up my phone to check if there were any calls or message from Carter.

Unfortunately, my screen was off due to the lack of battery. I scrambled to get the charger. I plugged it in.

My phone lights up. Slowly rebooting.

Come on. Come on.

Then the theme song played.

Yes!

Immediately, my phone violently vibrated with songs to notify me.

7 messages from Carter.
3 missed calls from Carter.

Most of them were sent hours ago. I'm so dead.

Well then, tomorrow's gonna be a long day.
