Chapter 5
"Don't Embarrass Me!"
"10:15." You read the time inside your head. Prescott was in the back getting dressed. This alone time gave you a chance to meditate and reflect before today's job. You closed your eyes and thought about the way Daniel ate you out earlier... That alone relieved some nerves. "I miss my bae," you opened your phone and stared at your phone wallpaper of him, "Daniel." *A door shuts* You jumped, slightly, then remembered it was just that witch. Her heels clicked louder and louder as she approached you. "How do I look?" Standing to your feet, you checked her out, "You look real good." "I know," she said striking a pose. That was probably one of your best moments with her; the other was a laugh you shared during class whenever she tripped during a lecture. "Hahaha!" You both laughed with each other. Her outfit closely resembled yours. A blazer, a blouse, but instead of shorts she wore a pencil skirt with a slit in the side. "I love your skirt!" "It's Fendi." You nodded. Wait, now didn't this heffa bash your outfit? Now she tryna look like you? Prescott could be so confusing! "Go put my dishes and cups away. Wash them too." You sighed, then rolled your eyes. "You got something you need to say," she followed you, then stopped in front of you. Her eyes pierced you, "Huh [Yn]?" "No ma'am." She didn't accept back talk. It was so hard holding your temper back from her but at the end of the day, she was in charge. She watched as you gathered the dishes, then headed for the sink. "I need you to put a lil pep in ya step, we gotta get going in a few minutes." And with that command spoken, she flopped on her couch and began flipping through your binder again. *Under your breathe* "I don't know why this bitch got me washin these fuckin dishes... lazy ass. She know she wrong for that ugly ass skirt!" "[Yn]?" "Yes?" "Hurry." You didn't respond; you let your actions speak. Within about five minutes, you approached her on the couch. "Alrighty, grab your things and lets head out."
The car ride was so agitating with this lady bruh! She demanded that you drive and she in return drove you crazy!!!! It was about 15 minutes into the ride and your breathing was a bit rapid. The moisture from the sweat built up on your palms made the steering wheel a bit slippery. Why would she act like this? Was there honestly an objective? "Oh my goodness! I don't know why I let you drive [Yn]! You don't have a clue as to what you're doing huh! I swear, you got a lot more to.... woork..... ooooon..... liiiiiiikkke seerrioooosly....." Her words slowed down as you tuned her out, completely. Haha, you mastered the art of tuning people out during an argument. All you'd do is take yourself to another place; a place of peace. I mean, she honestly had done a stupendous job at pissing you off but after all the things you'd been through since living here... Her stupid nagging wasn't enough to make you pop, just yet. It'd take a lot more than that. NYC helped you to develop a real thick skin. Your strength was built after all the chaos you endured, and that was only the beginning. Whether it was your parents fighting, emotional issues with Daniel, dealing with Tatianna and Samantha's fake ass, Donte's comeback, or Uncle Russ giving you a hard time at his internship! So many lessons were learned from the past. Each and every single problem would stack like bricks forming a wall of strength. Oh and trust, that wall was towering now! Little did this bitch sitting across from you know that she only helped you, rather than annoyed you. Nice try Prescott! "HEEELLLOOOO? DID YOU HEAR WHAT I SAID? TURN RIGHT HERE!" "You got it," you looked over and smiled at her. She rolled her eyes and looked at her phone, "Stay on this street for the next 10 red lights." For the first time after the ride began, she finally managed to shut the hell up. *Ring....Ring....Ring* Your eyes lit up after you saw his name across the dash board. It read: "My Baby♥"Prescott looked over and envied the look of satisfaction in your eyes. Right as your hand reached to answer the call, she quickly slapped your hand down. "Do not answer that, we are on a business call. Save the personal matters for later. Besides, I need your eyes on the road." TF???? You had to tilt your head to the side on this bullshit... Did she not recognize that the two of you were just in the damn car? And did she not see that the phone was hooked up to the speakers so both hands would be free... Oh my gosh... Of course, you said nothing. Each ring made you wanna answer it so badly. What did he want? Usually he wouldn't call he if knew you were busy. Hopefully he was calling to tell you that he fired that bitch Camille. Hahaaaaaaaa! Wishful thinking, rather, but you knew better than that. After the last ring, a smile grew on Prescott's face. That smile quickly inverted after the voice mail played. "Hey baby, I know you're probably busy. I just got up. I slept a lil bit, not too much though," his deep, tired voice made you feel a lil wet, "Not my first and certainly not my last sleepless night. Haha, maybe I couldn't sleep because I couldn't get you off my mind. Girl I swear, you be havin a nigga feelin so weak for that good pussy baby," Prescott's face was priceless, "I missed you so much. I love makin them legs shake [Yn]. Hahaha... Look I don't wanna keep you though. Hope that thang not givin you too much trouble," Oh shit... did he just... oh my goodness gracious, "I might stay the night at Spin's. After the studio, he wants me to come over and help plan his birthday party. Maybe... Anyway, I love you. Later beautiful." You were afraid to look over at her face... Shit, you were still on the part about him "makin them legs shake" lol.... Even though you weren't lookin at her, you could feel her starin at you. "I apologize," you looked over, "I didn.." "Its okay, just drive." You laughed under your breathe. That wasn't the best timing but it sure felt good to hear from him. This morning was starting off incredible. You didn't mind helping Prescott out for today but lawd knows you wanted your man. "We're here. pull up there." You pulled inside a parking garage and headed for a free spot a bit further down. "RIGHT THERE?!" Since you were in the middle of accelerating, the brakes were a bit too sudden. "Oh my goodness, I can't," she snatched her bag and got out the car. She waited outside the car as you parked. "I swear, this lady gone get it today bruh... I'm up to here," you raised your hand. After a few deep breathes, you managed to calm down, then shut the car off. When you stepped out and retrieved your binder, she motioned for you to come to her. "Yes?" "This is very, very important for me okay? All I need you to do is follow my lead. Don't step outside of that, you understand? And by all means, DON'T EMBARRASS ME!" "Okay." "These clients expect nothing but the best from me and I expect nothing but the best from you. Less of that or get out of line, I'm sending you home." "Okay." On that note, she began walking. Sometimes, nah who I am kidding, Prescott ALWAYS made you feel like a little kid dawg. Even though you were 20, she treated you like a fuckin kid and you couldn't stand it. You continued to follow her on your way up to today's assignment.
