Focusing on putting one foot infront of the other as he walked to the car, he kept his head down. To say that Grayson was aroused would be an understatement.  He was extremely turned on.  Completely, 100%, turned on. It had taken a lot of restraint to not kiss Leila back there.  She was such a tease.  She had to know what she did to him.  Everyone else could see it.  He couldn't help that he wanted to put his hands on her whenever she got close.  Currently, it was taking every ounce of willpower to control his wolf and its desire to turn around and go back to her.

Grayson knew they were mates.  He knew the minute she walked into his office the first day they met.  Her scent gave her away before she spoke. And she had no idea that her little rebuttles and smirks did nothing but turn him on even more.  Like right now.  He growled as he opened the door to his black Audi.

Trying to take his mind off of how hot he thought she was when she adjusted her thin, white t-shirt, he started the car.  As he put his car in reverse, he heard his phone ring.  Putting his car back in park Grayson let a scowl crawl across his face.

"Shit."  He looked at his screen and tightened his grip on the steering wheel. .  It was his dad calling.  Grayson knew talking to his dad right now would only make matters worse for himself.  Knowing his dad would keep calling until he answered pissed off Grayson. Reluctantly, he swiped to answer the call, taking a deep breath before speaking.

"I don't have a lot of time to talk right now Dad."

"You may be the Alpha, but don't forget that I am your Father.  You will make time to speak with me."

Grayson leaned on his elbow that was resting on the armrest and squeezed the bridge of his nose, letting out a loud sigh.

"Now, since I have your undivided attention, we can get to the matter at hand.  Indigo tells me that the rogues have returned."

"Dad, I know and I have already begun to work on a strategy to protect our area.  I already sent our best protectors to help Indigo." He let the irritation be heard in his voice.

"Yes I know this Grayson.  Indigo told me that as well.  So answer me this Grayson,  why the hell is Indigo telling me things about my own pack when my son is the Alpha?! " His dad was yelling now.  "Why didn't I hear about this from you? Did you forget that I used to be the Alpha of this pack, Grayson? Did it somehow slip your memory that I trained you? "

This was why he never liked to take his father's calls. Sure, Grayson could have told his father about the rogues attacking.  But he knew it wouldn't matter.  His father never wanted to give up his position as Alpha.  It had been an ongoing struggle. He hated that he had to give his son the title at what he considered a young age.  What he hated even more was everything that Grayson wanted to change.  His favorite issue to argue about was that the pack was mixing territory with humans.

"I know that you trained me. I can't forget when you remind me everytime we talk.  It's my responsibilty to protect and defend the pack first.  Once that is over, then comes the time to share information.  I was going to tell you about the issue when we had dinner this week.  I cannot help if Indigo decides to share information before I have the opportunity."

"This doesn't just concern me knowing. What about the humans, Grayson?  How are you going to protect them?  How will they protect themselves if the rogues attack?" His father's voice held an edge to it.

"I know that it may be hard for you to believe but I actually know what I'm doing."

"Do you know what you're doing? I'll tell you!  You are putting innocent lives at risk!" His father yelled again.
