It was a typical Friday. Zim would walk out of skool and I would try to follow him to the best of my abilities. He'd normally catch me and we would get into a fight. This day was no different. Zim walked out of skool at 2:30 as always to head back to his secret base that he was going to use to take over Earth. I knew he had to be getting close to finding a way to obliterate us all. No one was gonna believe me and that just means it'll be even better when I prove them wrong.
I quickly walked out from behind the skool doors and began to follow him. He immediately noticed me and turned around, "What do you want now you insolent worm baby?"
How everyone couldn't see through his disguise was very hard to comprehend especially since he talked like that. No human does that. "I'm going to stop you Zim! I'll make sure the world knows who you are!"
He had an immediate come back, "YOU have to catch me first Dib-smelly!"
And with that he took off.
My feet moved before I could think. I had to catch him even if it meant I was chasing him for the rest of my life. I had to save Earth. Even if no one even believed me.
I wasn't as fast as Zim. His body was built for this type of thing while mine wasn't. I grew tired quickly but kept going. He made a couple sharp random turns but what really threw me off was when he turned the opposite direction of his house. Where was he going? He let out a maniacal laugh as his PAK legs creeped out of the PAK and planted themselves on the ground giving him a boost in speed as he jumped onto the closest house roof and looked down at me with a large smirk.
I wasn't going to give up that easily. I made a break for it and jumped over the house's fence and landed in the back yard. I looked around for something that could get me up onto the roof. There were a couple chairs but they wouldn't be tall enough. My eye caught a large dumpster on the side of the house. Perfect. I jumped off the balls of my feet and ran towards it, grabbing a chair along the way. I closed the dumpster lid and put down the chair on top of it, climbing up.
When I made it on top of the roof I made immediate eye contact, "Zim!"
And with that I lunged for him. I gasped in surprise as he caught me by my shirt, lifting me up with just one of his three fingered, clawed hands. I squirmed, trying to kick him. It was no use. His sharp pointed teeth barred at me as he yelled, "I'll teach you what happens when people mess with the almighty Zim!"
He released. At that moment it occurred to me. He was holding me over the edge. Things felt as if it moved slower. All I could yell out was "ZIM!!" before I hit the pavement.
I heard a snap. Everything was blurry. All I could see was Zim looking over the side of the house, laughing. Everything went dark. I couldn't move anymore. Nothing was hurting and nothing was happening. It was just dark.
I gasped for air, sitting up quickly. I held my face with with my hands. I was sweating profusely. I looked around. I was in my room? Was that all a dream? It felt so real. Zims terrifying smile, the way his claws dug into my shirt, that snap sound and the smell of blood. It felt so very real.
I look over at the desk next to my bed and picked up my glasses putting them on. It took my eyes a moment to focus but when they did I was able to read my alarm clock: 3:24 AM. Knowing me I wasn't going to fall back asleep after that. I stood up and walked to the door exiting my room. I needed some water. My throat was insanely dry after that.. "dream".
The stairs creaked beneath my feet. I had to be careful not to wake Gaz up. Last time I did that she sent her robot stuffed animals at me. It was terrifying. I made it downstairs and an electric spark like noise came from the floor. I jumped in surprise as I looked down. The floor had a hole in it. Blue and red sparks flashing out of it as floor tiles began appearing where they weren't before.
I rubbed my eyes and looked again. There was no hole or sparks anymore. I must have been seeing things.
